God Is Bigger

Phillipians 4: 1Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

Prayers for Mamasmurf

Please remember dear Chrissy, Mamasmurf in your prayers. Chrissy was diagnosed with cancer twelve years ago and has been living with it ever since. She was rushed to the ER in her town in England. Her health started to deteriorate rapidly last Sunday, and they took her to the hospital. They did see a turn-around after giving antibiotics and fluids, and Papasmurf is hoping to be able to update us with good news soon.

Here is a bit about Chrissy, from her post for the HM meme:

“I was born and brought up in Wales and trained as a primary (elementary) schoolteacher; I taught other people’s children for over 12 years until I took early retirement on health grounds when I was diagnosed with terminal neuroendocrine cancer (my son was then only 18 months old!). At that point, I was too poorly to even think of homeschooling, so school was the only option. Thank the Lord, I am now much better and strong enough to provide Littlesmurf with an apt and adequate education.”

Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Chrissy has been a friend of ours since we started blogging in March of 2006, and we pray for God to place His healing hand upon her and give her doctors wisdom in what they give her and how they care for her.

We love you Chrissy, and we are praying for you, Papasmurf and Deniol. Love and hugs to you from the States.

Philippians 4: 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Prayers for the Lirettes

Please pray for our friends in Alabama. They are originally from deep in Cajun country in Louisiana. Elgin and Josephine evacuated from Louisiana when hurricane Katrina was beginning to form. We knew that by the time she arrived in our area that she was going to be a big one. So, they began selling their things and left Louisiana 12 hours before Katrina hit their home town.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In May, their family was hit by another tragedy when Elgin was killed in an accident, which Josephine has blogged about in depth on her blog. We are grieved with her and the family. We had the privilege of meeting dear Josephine, Sandy, Jordan, and Sarah when we went southwest on our vacation. You can get to her daughters’ blogs through hers.

Here is her email. She sent two:

Hey,
I’m requesting prayer for my family and friends in Louisiana. They are fixin on getting hit by a category 4 hurricane, which by Sunday will be upgraded to a category 5, which is one of the most powerful hurricanes to get hit by. Nineteen of my family members are evacuating Louisiana and are coming up to stay with me and my girls. I don’t want to speak doom and gloom, but more than likely most of them will probably lose everything they own. My sister is coming up to my house and will be bringing my Daddy, who is a very sickly man. He can’t breath without his oxygen, so I ask that you also bring him before The Lord, that he can make the trip without any further health issues. Thank you all so much, I’ll try to keep you posted with updates.
Love you all,
Josephine, Jordan & Sarah

My son is a tugboat captain and is somewhere in the Gulf in the Texas area and his company says that he has to stay with the boat and will not be evacuated. They did this to him for Hurricane Rita three years ago. We had lost contact with him and didn’t hear from him for almost a week. Thank God that he was safe and made it through the hurricane. So, I ask you to help me to pray that My God would keep him safe.
Josephine, Jordan & Sarah

Philippians 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

We are praying for your safety and the safety of all who are evacuating and getting the weather from Hurricane Gustav. Uncle Leo, Aunt Barbara and Grandpa are north of New Orleans near Baton Rouge, and we are praying for them also.

Love you all!!

Philippians 4: 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Prayers for the Drews Family

We will continue our heartfelt prayers for our friends in Texas. You are in our hearts and prayers. Prayers For Drews Family TX. There are tributes popping up all over for the sweet little guy. I like what they said on the Heart of The Matter post: Celebrating the Life of Little Christian “Dozer” Drews:

Dozer, we’ll see you soon, sweetheart!

Philippians 4: 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

blessings!

Jacque Sig

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.'

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.

Jacque Mrs. Jacque Dixon and her husband, Matt, train their nine children up in YHVH's narrow way, home schooling on their small homestead in Indiana. She is co-owner and Manager of Gleaning the Harvest, a mission founded by the Dixons, presenting widowed/single mother home school families to YHVH's people. She is also owner and publisher of Training Sons to Be Men, and Training Daughters, Teaching Wives. Walking Therein is where Jacque writes encouraging home school articles, articles of faith, and the daily lives of the Dixon family.
