Shabbat Psalm & Praise
Posted By Jacque on March 13, 2010
Exodus 20:8
“Remember the day, Shabbat, to set it apart for God.
Ex 20:10
but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God.
Ex 20:11
For in six days, ADONAI made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why ADONAI blessed the day, Shabbat, and separated it for himself.
The name of the 7th day, according to the Scripture, is Shabbat. This is the Sabbath day the Yah gave to us, and it is the day we celebrate our day of rest. Verse eleven says that he separated it for himself, not for us, so this is why we set it apart – for him.
This is a forever commandment:
Exodus 31:16
The people of Isra’el are to keep the Shabbat, to observe Shabbat through all their generations as a perpetual covenant.
This is why we celebrate our Sabbath on the day of Shabbat, called Saturday – we set it apart – for him.
I am still trying to get posted what we do on our Sabbath onto Studying the Scriptures. Time is the issue, so I’m sorry, and I will try to finish that up and post it soon. : )
Speaking of which, I will be adding the Linky tomorrow night, after Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom!!
