Simple Woman’s Daybook 5

The Simple Woman’s Daybook Meme

FOR TODAY August 18th… countdown to my fortieth birthday: 10 days…

Outside My Window… Blondie, our Golden Retriever/Lab is pacing. I think she is contemplating chasing some of the chickens. I also see the warm breeze blowing the fields of soybeans. Oh, has it been so nice here lately. Perfect weather, considering it is August!

I am thinking… How did I get to be almost forty? And, how did my children grow up so fast? And how did I get to be so blessed with all of them?

I am thankful for… My salvation. I cannot imagine how my life would be so different if not for knowing the Lord and His mercies. We are so fully blessed that I do not even want to guess what life would have looked like otherwise.

From the kitchen… Stew cooking. The smell of vegetables is wafting out here… Dinner tonight is Amanda’s special Creamy Chicken Noodle concoction. Only she really knows the recipe for it!

I am wearing… my pajamas: my light blue Superman tshirt and grey stretchies. Barefoot, as usual. :)

I am creating… lapbooks, lapbooks and booklets to go into the lapbooks.

I am going… crazy with all of the changes around here: new goat babies, purging and giving away, discussions about moving, and when and where…

I am reading… nothing. Just my Bible or Biblegateway.com. I scan books and blogs all the time, but I am picking out info, not seriously reading anything.

I am hoping… to get all of the ’stuff’ put away that is setting around. I am also hoping to get a shower sometime today!

I am hearing… Jocelyn talk baby-talk to LucyLillie and Isaac crunching on tortilla chips.

Around the house… going to the barn to feed the baby goats every 4-6 hours, lounging after 2 full days of rushing around with all the goat-birthing excitement, and tired children.

One of my favorite things… children who don’t have to be told to clean up after themselves, start dinner or help a brother or sister.

One of my least favorite things… inadverdently stepping on people’s toes and knowing it years later.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: same as for the past few weeks: plan school, make lapbooks, purging stuff, and getting goatlings dehorned.

Here is the picture thought I am sharing

We are finishing up slushies and Cherry Limeades that Matt brought home asa surprise late yesterday afternoon. Sonic was one of the things we missed about NM when we moved here, and they finally got one here, about 30m away. What a treat! This picture was taken in KY, on our great SouthWest Vacation of ‘08!

My son loves to tell me about Sonic because he’s been there in St. Louis and Idaho (I think) and says they are the greatest. Unfortunately they’ve not seen fit to open chains up here in Alaska.

Sounds like you have a great day and week planned out. Seems like a lot of people are planning moves, not me I’m right where I want to be and where God wants me to be.

I miss those, too. Great picture! I drive an econo-car, and do just the opposite.

I don’t know how the years go by so fast, and apparently they don’t slow down. What’s a girl to do???? Hummm, savor the moment?

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
