Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate Review and Giveaway

Posted By on February 23, 2010

I am officially reviewing for Tropical Traditions, and I am really happy about it. We have been using the Tropical Traditions products for about a year now. I have thought about reviewing and thought about it, and the Coconut Cream Concentrate is one of my favourite of all their products I have tried, so I asked if I could review it.
When you receive your Coconut Cream Concentrate, it will likely come to you ‘unmixed’. My jar had naturally separated and hardened, so all we had to do was heat it up in a bowl of hot water and stir it when it became soft enough. You can see a video of how to do that HERE. Then, it was ready to use in my coffee. Yes, that is my favourite use for it, so I had to have a cup. http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/images/coconut%20cream%20concentrate%2032oz.jpg

The Recipes:

Rachel is the main baker-cook in our home, and she has used the CCC in many things. Because I love it in my coffee, she has made us a special treat: the Tropical Traditions Coffee Heaven recipe. I love it in the Coconut Cream Hot Chocolate, too.  I also like it on my grits, mixed with some butter. Like their Virgin Coconut Oil, it adds just a slight bit of flavour of coconut, and the Coconut Cream makes it smooth and creamy.

I LOVE these and Rachel can’t make them too often, because I will eat them all! Quick Lemon Coconut Candy.

I would love to try a few of their other recipes, like the Easy No-Bake Coconut Cream Cheesecake Recipe, and we have some of their Greens, so the Green Coconut Smoothie Recipe looks good too! If you don’t have any, don’t worry, the Coconut Cream Green Smoothie Recipe looks great too.

Honestly, when it is hardened in the jar, I will just get out a spoon and eat it right out of the jar, but that’s just me. It’s like a treat, creamy and sweet – and coconutty.

The Particulars:

Coconut Cream Concentrate is 100% pure coconut, with nothing else added! That also means it is gluten-free!

You might wonder: “Does one get the same benefits with Coconut Cream Concentrate™ as Coconut Oil?

From the site: “Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It contains no additives (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground into a very fine powder, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil. Note: this is a food, not a cooking oil.

If you like coconut milk, you can mix 1 or 2 teaspoons of Coconut Cream Concentrate with water or juice to make a creamy coconut milk drink.

We love to use it in our cooking and baking. “It is also an excellent ingredient for cooking and baking. Because of its low moisture content, it can be mixed right in the batter or dough of breads and pastries. It can also enhance soups, be blended with smoothies, or made into ice cream. Many people just eat it straight, or spread it on breads and crackers, because it is so delicious! For some great recipes, get the Virgin Coconut Oil book.”

OOhhhhh! Doesn’t ice cream sound good too!

Yes it does. Any purchase counts. There is a minimum purchase though… it’s usually $16 :) We have some GC for VCO, so I may take advantage of that $1 deal and get the buy 2 get 2 deal with it… or maybe some honey. I wish they had a BOGO for that! :)
But.. yes – any purchase counts!

Welcome

Welcome. I'd like to say that I'm first a 40-ish yr old woman with all of my likes and dislikes, but let's face it, Firstly, I'm a mom to 9 wonderful people, young and old, from ages 23 down to 3. That's my main life: loving, walking with, learning with, teaching, and being driven crazy by my kids and their antics and also being amazed by their capacity to keep loving a person like myself. So, I'm a 40-ish home school mom - teacher of the last 6 of my 9 kids, hoping I don't screw them up too badly, but knowing that they are probably all so awesome they will turn out much better people than I am. For which I am very GRATEFUL. Namaste.
