Staying In My Bathroom

Posted By Jacque on February 16, 2010

Here I sit, holding Samuel, in the bathroom. I decided, after being in and out of the bathroom for the past three days with him, to just move a little table for my coffee, book, Bible, and bulb syringe and a tv tray/laptop in. The rocking chair has already been in here for a couple of days.

I am usually typing one-handed anyway, but in the past 3 days, Samuel needs to be on my shoulder, not my lap, so “being online” has been a bit stifled. I started, but then missed my Saturday P&P, and my SWDaybook, which I had been enjoying posting and keeping a record of our days. No biggie, as my girls and my friends have kept my FaceBook Wall busy!

Samuel has gone from ok with a runny nose and cough to feverish to congested to questionable cough to coughing fit to getting better and now back to congestion and cough. So, here I camp. After the concerns I had yesterday at a point I think was the worst, I am fine and dandy sitting here in this little room. Still, I PRAISE YHVH for his keeping me and staying my faith in him.

I am here because it is small, and I can heat it up quickly with the shower. We have a cool mist going in the family room, and I even put a crock pot of hot water out, but it is not breaking up what he has. Last night, I saw a glimmer of hope as I heard clear breathing, but this morning, he is congested again. {I hope I don’t have to sleep in here tonight…}

No problem, though with being in here, even with the door shut. I can hear the Littles playing right outside the door, and they have already been in and out all morning. And now, Caleb is moving in with me; he brought the travel scrabble game! And I smell Rachel’s soup boiling!

While you are here checking up on me, will you check out the donation widgets on my sidebar and consider giving even a few dollars to the single-widowed home school families to help them meet their goals this month? Thanks!

Shalom!

    Praying for Samuel. My girls and I get croup and I have spent many nights with babies in the bathroom with the shower steaming.

    I am trying really hard to stave off the croup. I think he is over it and just a little lingering. We’ll see what the next day or so proves out.
    Thanks for your prayers!

    What a good mommy you are, Jacque. Keep him upright at night – propped up on pillows. It will help so much. Hugs to you both.

    Thanks Carol! :)
    I have me propped up on pillows and Samuel in my arms… :)
    LOL
    I have a special way I wrap a blanket around him and tuck it so he can’t fall off too. Works great.
    Thanks for the HUGS!

  5. I am praying for you and your little one. I know what you are going through because we are in the same boat. My little Isaac’s cough came back this evening after being gone several days we have been using Olive leaf tea,along with lithy tree and briar rose extracts you can buy online through http://www.boironusa.com/ eight drops of each once a day for prevention and several times a day for illness infant and child dosing. God will heal the little one and you will quickly forget so cherish having to hold him soon he will be so ready to go and play he won’t want you to hold him Isaac just learned to crawl and even though he feels badly he doesn’t want me to hold him.

    He is doing better today. He was a little better yesterday too, but today, though he is really dry, he is doing much better. Once he could breathe through his nose, he could nurse and go to sleep. :)
    How is your brother doing? PRaying he is doing better as well.

    My brother is doing better today too… Praise the LORD! He still doesn’t feel well, but he has had great improvement! Thank you for praying! :)

    Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement. Samuel is doing much better! I am out of the bathroom for the most part, after being in there for a day and a half straight.
    [No, I didn't have to sleep in there! Yay!]

    You are such a wise woman, Jacque! Instead of doing what most of us would do (which is to keep doing normal life and be STRESSED and ANXIOUS and OVERWHELMED), you just go with the flow. You make yourself comfortable in the bathroom of all places, and sit there cheerfully for as long as your baby needs you to. The next time I am sidelined by a sick little one, I will remember this post!

    I gave you a Beautiful Blogger Award on my blog. You can see it here:

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
