Heart-Broken

Posted By Jacque on February 1, 2010

Amanda is heart-broken we can’t get Pizza Hut pizza today for lunch. I love the girl, and I love pizza, but there are just times when I have little sympathy. We have no money for that right now, and as good as it tastes, homemade is so much better for us!

Here is my solution to her great desire for Pizza Hut:

Get off the laptop, go clean the toilet, and you’ll forget about your broken heart. I promise. I’ll bet you find some more things you can do instead and then you will be hungry enough to eat anything.

Just reality here Folks.

Oh. My. Thanks for the link Amanda.
They put shellfish in more than their sauce!!
They put it in their ham??
    and their pasta….
    and their breadsticks!
    ICK.
That’s ok. I like Rachel’s breadsticks better anyway.

I like what Eric said: “Why do they have to pollute everything?”.

I’ll just have mom e-mail you the list. ;) But it may be awhile as I’m not quite sure where it is.

I know, isn’t it terrible? They (Pizza Hut) never used to do that. Wonder why they changed…my 8-y-o nephew was so upset about it. =P

OK – I know PH had (ha!) good pizza (for some) ….but homemade IS way better! And if that’s not good enough (some days, you know, it just isn’t) …down the street, a large cheese pizza is $6 and VERY good. :-) (ask me how I know) LOL

    Jacque Reply:

I actually DO like the homemade much better, even when it takes longer to make.

So, I take it you already knew about the shellfish?
How is the PH in CR? Do they use shellfish in theirs too, I wonder…
I prefer PapaJohn’s. It will be interesting to find out about their sauce, etc… – [Toria?]

    Kendra Reply:

yup, we knew about the shellfish, and I’m partial to PJ too! :-) I think they have those here – I know they have PH, but I think the ingredients are different…guess I need to check! (not that we ever go, but you know…)

We make pizza often, it’s cheap! (ok, until our cheese supplier moved his shop…now we’re hunting for a new one – bummer! :-)

    I figured you probably did!
I only ask about PJ, because the guy who created them used to be with PH. It will be interesting (or unfortunate) to find out!
:) Bummer is right about the cheese guy!
Amanda would love having pizza more often, I’m sure!

  7. Aww Poor Miss Amanda. :) Hehe, Jacque you and I are more alike than I thought! And ewwwwwwwww on shellfish in sauce! I had no idea, and I didn’t do shellfish before because I don’t like it. Gross.

Can you post the list once you get it Jacque? I would love to know also. Thanks and be blessed!

LOL! yes….. hard work always makes a child hungry.

My mother would send me to bed hungry if I didn’t want what
was on the table. We buy the frozen pizza’s lately….

What is your recipe for making a homemade pizza? Do you
use whole wheat? What toppings do you like? ( We are sausage
and pineapple fans …. plain cheese for the kids… ) LOL!

Dear Jacque, she will grow up to be a better woman for it, I’m sure. As adults it’s hard to be patient with the young ones when you know that life can be very much harder than not getting commercially made pizza, but I think you handled it just right.

Does anyone have any shortcuts for good homemade pizza?

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
