Simple Woman’s Daybook: Drying Dishes

Posted By Jacque on January 25, 2010

FOR TODAY, January 25, 2010… from Jacque’s Daybook

Outside my window… slanted, blowing snow.
I am thinking… that I am sitting too much to get enough done.
I am thankful for… sitting holding Samuel. See the pattern here?
From the Learning Rooms
*Littles: Music Ace Starter. and Old Yeller. There has to be a lesson in there somewhere!
*Middles: Music Ace Starter. Reading, and cooking. Rachel is a reviewer for Tropical Traditions and other home school books, so that is something she does weekly.
*Older: Amanda is on Livemocha.com, learning Espanol. I need to get everyone else on this!
From the kitchen… cold homemade pizza: hamburger, provolone cheese, olives and pineapple. -with pepperoncinis!
I am wearing… the black skirt Amanda bought me for my birthday and a blue maternity top. Funny, that is what I was wearing last week too…
I am creating… piles of things I need to pack away and piles of what I need to keep out.
I am going… crazy trying to figure out exactly which Creative Memories we need to keep out for home schooling and family fun time.
I am currently reading… still reading“King of the Jews” by D. Thomas Lancaster, sent to me by our lovely friends, the Humphreys at Consider His Ways. I will likely be reading it for awhile. I have been able to share it out loud with the family.
I am hoping… we have a buyer real soon.
I am hearing…. Old Yeller again after Caleb found it in the giveaway box… I need to find that on DVD. I wonder if it is on YouTube?
On my mind…. getting to where we are going as soon as possible.
Noticing that… It is almost February 2010.
Around the house… deciding what to do to have a more public moving sale.
One of my favorite things……nighttime, getting our children ready for bed. I can hold them and nurse the babes, and love on them without them going after other things.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: clearing out the stuff in the garage. We are going to just give it away to the shelter if we don’t get it sold.

  1. Oh my! Lucy is getting to be such a big girl! I remember when I found out she was born. :)

I am doing Spanish next school year. Would you mind telling me a little more about Livemocha?

Hannah~ Wow. I didn’t know we had known each other that long! Time goes by so quickly~ She is getting to be a very big girl!

I haven’t gotten on Livemocha very much. I know it is a site where you can learn Spanish words, phrases and definitions, and there are tests, quizzes and correct pronunciation. I also found that you can search what others have posted as far as flashcards. I would say it is probably a good addition to any Spanish instruction and your mom would probably find it a beneficial tool in teaching you and even your brothers/sisters all together. :) That’s what we are doing.

I can relate to the piles . . . and lingering with the baby longer than I need to. What a time to do that though, while he is young! Praying for your home to sell. Do you know where you are going yet? I think of you often!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.'

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.

Jacque Mrs. Jacque Dixon and her husband, Matt, train their nine children up in YHVH's narrow way, home schooling on their small homestead in Indiana. She is co-owner and Manager of Gleaning the Harvest, a mission founded by the Dixons, presenting widowed/single mother home school families to YHVH's people. She is also owner and publisher of Training Sons to Be Men, and Training Daughters, Teaching Wives. Walking Therein is where Jacque writes encouraging home school articles, articles of faith, and the daily lives of the Dixon family.
