Psalm 147: How Good He Is to His People
Posted By Jacque on January 9, 2010
How good Yahveh is. How truly good he is. All goodness; All love; All kindnesses to his people.
Psalm 147
1 Halleluyah! How good it is to sing praises to our God! How sweet, how fitting to praise him! 2 ADONAI is rebuilding Yerushalayim, gathering the dispersed of Isra’el. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He determines how many stars there are and calls them all by name. 5 Our Lord is great, his power is vast, his wisdom beyond all telling. 6 ADONAI sustains the humble but brings the wicked down to the ground. 7 Sing to ADONAI with thanks, sing praises on the lyre to our God.
He is calling his followers out in these last days, “rebuilding Yerushalayim, gathering the dispersed of Isra’el“.
He spoke to me today, and told me that, just as Hadassah – Queen Esther – was, so are we today: here for such a time as this. It is difficult. We will face hardship and even perhaps death, and we will be broken-hearted, too, in these times.
Esther 4
12 Upon being told what Ester had said, Mordekhai 13 asked them to give Ester this answer: “Don’t suppose that merely because you happen to be in the royal palace you will escape any more than the other Jews. 14 For if you fail to speak up now, relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from a different direction; but you and your father’s family will perish. Who knows whether you didn’t come into your royal position precisely for such a time as this.”
We may face circumstances that seem like certain death to us, but we must remember that we must do as we are told by Yahveh. Only then are we protected in his will. Mordecai told her that she was still in danger, even in the palace as Queen, and the Jews would be saved in another manner if she chose to not approach the King.
To me, this is an admonishment and an encouragement. An admonishment to DO it as obedience, and an encouragement to DO it when there is fear of certain death.
Yahveh has all things in his hands. There is nothing new under the sun. We can read Scripture and see him and his ways woven throughout. We must only read and allow him to show us these things. And be willing.
ARE we willing?
Leviticus 20:26
Rather, you people are to be holy for me; because I, ADONAI, am holy; and I have set you apart from the other peoples, so that you can belong to me.
