Slow Progress: Home School Planning

Posted By on August 6, 2009

I really am trying to get books and workboxes organized for our learning times this year. Real life learning – Living Learning Moments, hasn’t quite allowed it yet…

Workboxes sit empty…

Workboxes Cabinet

bookshelves too…

bookshelves planning 2

my piles of planning still there, a bit scattered from inquisitive children…

book piles planning

I know what I want to do. I’ve got it “right up here”… it’s just getting it onto paper and implemented. I just don’t feel like sitting, standing, carrying books, getting up and down right now. Baby isn’t too big yet, but my belly is tired. Hopefully soon the rest of life will slow down and I can get it planned right and proper!

    Jacque,

You are not alone! I am just about at the same place you are, except I had to tidy up my “planning piles” per my hubby’s request. I’ll keep you in prayer and with God’s help, we will conquer this mountain!

    Blessings,

    Mrs. H

  2. Don’t feel bad. I can’t even get that far. I can’t plan the school year when I can’t even find a house to move into. But I know God has a plan for us.

I’ll pray for you to “feel” smaller. I know how you feel. I’ll pray for lots of energy for you, too.

Pray for me to find the right house, please.

    Thanks,
    God bless the Dixon family,

    Love,
    Penney

Hang in there, my friend. It will all come together. And as you know, it’s just a part of real life learning, right? Your family is always learning anyway. Blessings to you as you manage your growing clan!

:) Dianne~ Thanks for the reminder. We sure have been learning so much lately! And, it’s not piddly little stuff either; it’s life and death stuff for our animals… :( . But, it is something we really need to know, and it sure has been a lot of learning for all of us. (I hope we’re done learning about it, too!)

Thanks for your blessings and encouragement!

I am SO there with you! Just digging in to my piles now. We have a tax-free school shopping holiday and I was just going over my shopping list one more time. I hopped on to the library website and my requests were not going thru, so I got distracted.
There is hope in sight: I have a 3 month old, and had NO energy in getting planning done while pregnant either. However, I have more than made up for it this summer. I have completely re-organized my entire house, but I deliberately saved the school stuff for last because I get too excited about teaching my kiddos! We even did SOME lapbooking this week because I couldn’t stand it anymore.
We’ll be moving our school space upstairs this year, and that will be accomplished in just a few days. Then I am hoping to squeeze a sewing project in with my daughter before we hit the books in earnest.
God bless you all as we begin this journey together…

That is great Jill! We are also going to be able to use a new room this year to work on school projects. I am behind because (besides being exhausted)we are still finishing up on our addition. I have two tables-full of things to put on the walls yet that were removed and added to when we painted everything in June. We still have trim to get on too from then, but I need to get things hung up at least, because those tables will be what we use! :)

I had so much energy in May and June, I guess I am just needing to rest from it now. I have no idea how I worked the long hours putting up fence and working on the addition, but I suppose it was the strength I needed at the time and the Father just strengthened me then, because we all really needed it. Now I am pooped! But, I am thankful for a say of rest each week, and I know the Lord is faithful and will allow us to accomplish his purposes for our lives!

Other than that, I am super-excited about getting our school work in order. We don’t start until after Labor Day anyway, so I have plenty of time. Yehovah God must have something else in mind for us since I haven’t gotten it all written down yet!!

Welcome

Welcome to my online home. This is my personal website. My business website is linked below.
There isn't much to say about me. I am just me, at 40+, and making no excuses. I have a new lease on life, making the best of it.
I like to think of myself as a simple family gal trying to teach my children how to live, laugh, and love. I have been home schooling since 1993 and have graduated our three oldest. I'm still having fun with our youngest 6.
We recently moved from the mountainside in Costa Rica back to the U.S. after living there for 2 years. Life has taught us many lessons. It is our greatest teacher. That's how we live. That's how we learn. We can read and learn from books, but living is where the rubber meets the road. It's where the lessons prove themselves out.
The main focus in my life is my children and my home, but I also love to share about my new business as an Independent Representative with Miche handbags.
I love to be healthy and to learn about just about everything, and I love to teach and share information that is beneficial. Because of this, I have a few websites and pages on FB to share about health, Essential Oils, Miche, and my blog. You can find me there as well.

May you find peace in whatever your journey is and we'll see why our paths have crossed. I can't promise anything about our journey, except that it is quite the adventure.

After all, I have it on good authority that
"Adventure is out there!"
Ka - Ciao!!
