Put Your Trust in His Grace

Psalm 52
1 For the leader. A maskil of David, when Do’eg from Edom came and told Sha’ul, “David has arrived at the house of Achimelekh”:
Why do you boast of your evil, you tyrant, when God’s mercy is present every day? 2 Your tongue, as sharp as a razor, plots destruction and works deception. 3 You love evil more than good, lies rather than speaking uprightly. (Selah) 4 You love all words that eat people up, you deceitful tongue! 5 This is why God will strike you down, seize you, pluck you from your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. (Selah)6 The righteous will see and be awestruck; they will jeer at him, saying, 7 “This fellow would not make God his refuge, but trusted in his own great wealth, relying on his evil plots.” 8 But I am like a leafy olive tree in the house of God; I put my trust in the grace of God forever and ever. 9 I will praise you forever for what you have done, and I will put my hope in your name; for this is what is good in the presence of your faithful.
As David’s only hope and refuge was Yehovah, so is ours. As David put his trust in the grace of Yehovah God, let us do the same, not relying on our own plans and thoughts. We have a rich heritage in our faith in the words of God’s people. Listen to the words of David and be found on the right side of the Father’s grace. Saul did what he did because he had his own hopes and plans and applied God’s words TO them, instead of just doing the will of his Lord Adonai. He was rebuked over and over for this, yet he continued on in his own paths. Clearly, he was chosen, but he clearly turned against Adonai’s commands and followed his own plans.
Let us be like David, placing our hope in the Father, Yehovah, making him our refuge, and trust in him, not in our own selves or our own wisdom. Let us be “Like a Leafy Olive Tree” in the House of Yehovah. Let us teach our children to follow the words of our Father and teach them to lean on him, and not on their own understandings. Let us teach them to put their hope in the grace of Yehovah God alone forever.
Praise be to you Yehovah. “ I will praise you forever for what you have done, and I will put my hope in your name; for this is what is good in the presence of your faithful.”

Yes, He IS our only refuge! I have such peace knowing He is in control of all, no matter how it looks to my human eyes!
