Visiting with Friends and Family

Posted By Jacque on June 17, 2009

Monday, June 15

After three weeks of incredibly long and hard-working days, we are taking this week off to relax and enjoy our family and friends. It is a good and much-needed rest time to slow down.

My sister and her husband are here from NM,  and the Lirette family have been here for several days and will leave tomorrow. :( We also enjoyed Miss Toria’s family for a few days last week, leading up to the get together we had Saturday. I talked a little about that on Saturday’s post.

So, there has been a lot of talking, sharing, discussing, facebooking back and forth, and playing dominoes. I have fallen asleep while keeping the Littles upstairs (in the *new part*! Yay!) for the past few nights while they were up playing dominoes.

Right now, they have taken a break from dominoes, and Jordan and Amanda are playing rummy with Rachel, Jocelyn and Eric. Caleb is watching and trying to participate. Adrian, my brother-in-law, is working on the three desktops he brought us from his church, deleting files and readying them for us to use. Isn’t that awesome? The pastor at their church was upgrading and said he would like to donate them to us. We are very excited.

Matt had to go to work today, so maybe it will be a little more restful than the last two weeks of vacation! He turned the water on yesterday, and we have a leak. ugh. In my bathroom. So, it will be a tad longer before we get to use the bathrooms upstairs. That should give me enough time to decide which rooms the wall hangings and different decor will go into the different rooms. We moved everything around so there is no decor in any of the rooms still! Jen is going to help me get the boys’ Home Interiors Cowboys set up in their room that we bought from her last June when we visited her on our LONG vacation trip! I can’t believe it has already been a year.

Hopefully I can get Amanda to upload and resize some more family photos to share…. ;)

I also can’t believe it was my 4 year blogoversary on Sunday! We were so busy, I forgot. I will be doing some special things soon though.

We also were able to find out some special needs the Gleaning the Harvest families have. Please check out the Special Needs lists and see how you can give.

How is your almost-summer going?

We did have such a wonderful time. We were so blessed with all those days of fellowship with so many different families.

We were sad when we found out you moved, and we would love to have you over or stop and visit if we can. We travel through Springfield when we go to NM, but Mom and Matt’s parents all moved. My sis is still there, so we may pass through asnd take you up on your offer some day! :)

    Blessings to you~

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.'

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.

Jacque Mrs. Jacque Dixon and her husband, Matt, train their nine children up in YHVH's narrow way, home schooling on their small homestead in Indiana. She is co-owner and Manager of Gleaning the Harvest, a mission founded by the Dixons, presenting widowed/single mother home school families to YHVH's people. She is also owner and publisher of Training Sons to Be Men, and Training Daughters, Teaching Wives. Walking Therein is where Jacque writes encouraging home school articles, articles of faith, and the daily lives of the Dixon family.
