So, How We Doing on The List?

Posted By Jacque on June 10, 2009

Here is our list of what we had yet to do since our last update on Saturday. I am starring and bolding what we have finished as of tonight:

*staining and sealing the sanded wood floor – this was a real problem, because the stain we brought home originally was about the same red as the barn! No, I just couldn’t do it. I just could NOT paint the wood floor that color. So, we had to remove what little Amanda had already started staining the floor with…

*sanding and staining/sealing the dining room floor – Amanda is working on that as I type…

*Matt has a window to put up in a bathroom because the first contractor we had neglected to put in the right kind of window. We were praising the LORD that he got it in. It was a bit too small (better than too big, I suppose!), but he got it in.

*He also has some electrical/GFI issue to work out in the garage,

*Final inspection on Monday. It feels so good! to pass the final inspection.

move the furniture back in,

have the gas line cut and moved to new laundry room.

cut and cap water lines from washer,

put in two doors,

*laminate flooring laid, done in two rooms

*cut and nail up window trim,

cut and place floor trim, – not yet, but it is all sanded, stained and sealed,

put in and trim beveled glass window,

hang curtain hardware and curtains,

move furniture in to proper rooms,

hang wall hangings up,

put locks into doors

I am adding:

hook up sinks and toilets, we have had these for about the whole 7 years, just haven’t gotten them where they belong yet,

put door handles on french doors,

finish step,

ran out of laminate flooring, so we need more or another flooring for the small room,

hang mirrors,

put in thermostat,

wash windows,

Those were on Jocelyn’s list. The girls and Matt did go to Fort Wayne today and get all the food for the next 2 weeks. It was quite the job making out the list with Amanda, since we will be having family and friends staying here for about a week each. YAY! Not to mention the get-together with others! ;)

Continue to pray for us that we get the work finished ASAP! See the original list we started with 2 weeks ago here: Too Busy Home Schooling… Sorry I don’t have any photos… I would love to have time to post a few!

While you are here, take a look at the ChipIns and pray about how you can support the Gleaning the Harvest families. Their icons and ChipIns are in my sidebar. A HUGE Thank you who those who have already given! What a blessing to see!

May the LORD bless and protect you~

  1. Well, I don’t know if you’ll even have time to read this ;-) What an accomplishment! How exciting!I can’t wait to see it, and I hope it will be Saturday. Caedon is running a temp, and we don’t want to share ;-) If he’s not fever-free on Friday, we’ll stay away :-(

    Be blessed,
    Danielle

I am just having time to read this. ;)
It has been a whirlwind of work, but it sure has been a learning time!

You can come anytime, though, you know. We were looking forward to you all coming, but we will have to make another time, I guess.

I think I’m lost…is this for the garage for Grandma Starr?

    Jacque Reply:

No, Lisa. Mom is in the “Schoolhouse”, which is a remodeled garage. We did work on the siding for it last week, but we ran out of one of pieces we need to finish it.

Our addition, which is what the list is for, is a 27×32 2-story addition that we started in July 2002. We have been working for the past 3 weeks, almost non-stop, finishing all we could possibly do ourselves. It is quite the project!!
It has been a long time coming, and it is so good to have it almost finished.

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.
