COH #176: Some Things Moms Love

Happy Mother’s Day to you all! I hope you had a blessed Mother’s Day, celebrating with whomever you are Mom to or call Mom. When asked what I want for Mother’s Day my children can all tell you what I am going to say: “All I want is for you to get along and do what you are supposed to do. And straighten up your rooms.” Of course that’s not all moms want, but it is a start!
I hope you will enjoy the great submissions we’ve had this week. In honour of Mother’s Day, I tried to come up with some coinciding things home school moms might love! The pictures are of items I was blessed with for Mother’s Day this year.
Smiling Faces and Little Giggles, who can resist?

Belinda Bullard shares about how education can set the stage for how our children discern how to treat each other, and how to negotiate with one another in that process in the Bullard Family Constitution posted at With A Taste of Chocolate.

I must agree with Lara DeHaven when she says, “Learning at home has no beginning or end. It is constant. Your children are learning different things all the time whether you like it or not. ” and also, “As a homesteading family, I feel we have even more opportunities than most to explore learning practical skills. We have plenty of room to explore out of doors. We have animals to raise, love, and doctor. We have a garden to tend, vegetables to harvest, etc. Homesteading and home-schooling go hand-in-hand.“. I did have a great Mother’s Day. I was blessed to start it on Jocelyn’s birthday Saturday night. We rarely go out to eat, but went out for her 18th.
A clean house is the BEST! Glad you had a great day too! We got to finish putting up 100 foot of goat fencing ON Mother’s Day.
Working together, accomplishing much. I was BEAT though!

Great job with the carnival and the Mother’s Day treats! I love how homeschoolers are such a varied group, and that we are able to learn from each other in these carnivals.

My 7 year old son built me a portable deck platform all by himself. I guess he really learned a lot about construction. An article about it with a picture posts this week.
