New Sites, Blogrolls, and a Fund Raiser
Posted By Jacque on July 29, 2008
I have a couple of announcements:
First of all, you must know about Jocelyn‘s Feelin’ Feminine blogroll. It has been a wonderful encouragement for many moms and young ladies as they work through the Feelin’ Feminine Challenge.
Well, she has now introduced her new site: Feelin’ Feminine.com! What a beautiful banner! She worked up the site and graphics and did a wonderful job! That pretty lady on the banner just happens to be my grandmother, by the way!

The goal of Feelin’ Feminine is “Encouraging, inspiring, and challenging young ladies to rediscover the treasure of dressing femininely modest“. You must go to the site and look around. Sign the petition, read about The Challenge.
New Blogroll:
I started the Training Daughters, Teaching Wives blogroll over a year ago, and have enjoyed getting to know Moms and daughters. I am now officially announcing the Training Sons to Be Men blogroll. I have been planning it for awhile, but was unsure of a name. I looked out yesterday at Dad swinging my three boys on the swingset, and I just remembered when I prayed and prayed for boys. I am so blessed! They are now 11, 5 and 3, and I feel like they are at such wonderful ages. I think now is the perfect time to start the blogroll! The guidelines will be like those of the TDTW blogroll, so look for those soon! Email Me for information to join!
In other news:
My laptop is powerless. I don’t mean that as a put-down, just that my battery on my laptop has died. A few months ago, Eric blew my rechargeable battery when he plugged in something that was not ready to be plugged in, and it rendered the battery dead. I was doomed to be attached to the wall until further notice! This was at the end of the month, when GGM was going to publish, and we were leaving for vacation in the next few weeks, so I held off to get it sent in. Little did I know I could have had them send me the battery!
The other day, Isaac was talking to me as I worked on my laptop, and unbeknownst to me, he was standing on my battery cord. All of a sudden, my battery was on low power. Fortunately, I had just saved my Bridging the Gap draft! My laptop was dead as a doornail, with no hopes of getting it back on! So, my downloaded mail, my TOS Reviews(due now) and GGM info are now being held hostage, along with my discussion on Rosa of Linden Castle for the HSB Literary Club! Amanda and Matt took it in to Best Buy, and they assured them that they would have a battery and a new cord/battery will be sent out to us soon.
Amanda has been so sweet about letting me borrow her laptop. I am so blessed to have such a sweet gal for a best friend! Thanks Amanda! She has also been posting Paul and Gena’s trip on Paulie’s blog! If you are interested in the Suarez trek out West, you should go have a look-see. He has posted several photos and videos and is updating it several times a day!
Also… THANK YOU to Mr. Joe McLean, who put my blog on my jacquedixon.com url. I SO appreciate it!! He even updated my WordPress for me while he was at it! I hope you don’t mind a public thank you, Joe.
Fund-Raising
I also want to announce a Fund Raiser we are doing for Dixon Christian Academy through Home Interiors! My sister, Jennifer, is helping us out to raise some funds for curriculum and other learning tools. If you are interested in seeing the brochure, Email Me, and I will send you the PDF and any additional information.
The items included in the Fund Raiser are:
Fragrance Charms, Lotions and Shower Gels, Room Fresheners, and 2 sizes of jar candles: The Homestyle Country Jars are 7.5oz, and the Designer Candle Jars are 12.5oz. There are several fragrances to choose from. Email Me for a list or the brochure!
The awesome thing about these items is that they make great gifts! If you are interested in holding your own fund raiser, I am sure Jen would love to help you out. Just Email her for information.
PLEASE PLEASE PRAY!
We had a great weekend and got to celebrate the boys’ birthdays again! I was so happy, and ready to post about it, and then I read on Rachael Kligmann’s Journal that it would have been her 13th birthday on Saturday, and I didn’t finish it. MY heart was broken for Corinne, and I wanted to include something, but I couldn’t do it justice, so I didn’t do it. I will be posting more pictures soon. I hope you will keep Pete and Corinne and their family in prayers as they still suffer living without Rachael.
Please also remember to pray for Amy and Ty. They lost their beautiful little girl, Emmy, and I know they need our love and prayers too. Ooh how my heart aches for these Mommies. Lord help them through this grief.
Thank you Lord, for bringing us through and keeping us as we walk in you.
blessings!
