Virgin Coconut Oil and Its Health Benefits

Posted By Jacque on March 7, 2009

We have been using garlic oil as a topical antibiotic remedy for about ten years now. I discovered a recipe for GOOT a few years ago, and we have used it ever since. Most of the time, I have made it without the coconut oil, because we just didn’t keep it. You can use the olive oil in lieu of the coconut oil if you have to. When I have made it without the coconut oil, I used just a tad less olive oil than I would have coconut oil. It is better than not using the GOOT at all.

However, since reading about how the benefits of using virgin coconut oil topically are many, I have decided that we will be using the virgin coconut oil in it when we make it from now on. VCO is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.

Here are the many others benefits to using it, both topically and internally:

*reduces fever when massaged onto skin

*helps with acne as it cleans the pores and clears your face.

*relieves itching and prevents infection from bug bites

*stops a wound from bleeding and speeds healing.

*skin moisturizer

*improves complexion and scars

*can be used as a sunscreen, making your skin more resistant to sun’s rays decreasing your chance to have skin cancer.

*kills germs and bacteria that causes body odor

*can rid the body of fungal infections like athletes foot.

*can alter tumor growth.

*can be used to treat skin problems, such as psoriasis

*strengthens immune system

*is a good detoxifier

We use organic coconut oil. We get ours at Kroger, in the organic section. I am not sure if they carry the Virgin Coconut Oil, but you can always get out the Yellow Pages and see if there is a health food store near you. They usually carry such items.

EDITED: We are now using VCO from Tropical Traditions. They have wonderful products, specials and giveaways. You can follow them on Twitter for daily updates: http://twitter.com/troptraditions
or you can view their website at: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com

blessings and health to you!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
