All is Not Lost – Saturday Psalm & Praise

Posted By Jacque on February 28, 2009

I have had so much fun tonight! God knows what we need when we need it, and I am thankful to be his. We got some news this week that our hard drive with 3 years’ worth of photos is damaged to the point we cannot get our photos off of them. :(

So, from the time Caleb was a baby to now( and LucyLillie too))… gone. Except for what we have on Photobucket, our blogs and computers (which is not many, because most were transferred to the external hard drive.) What happened? I believe our sweet little angel, Caleb, dropped it.

Anyway, because of this, I went to an old MSN Spaces account where I had first started blogging to find old photos I had uploaded, and, it was even before I was on HSB, if you can believe that. I actually forgot that I really had blogged before then. It was weird to see my first post was June 2005. So, I have transferred up to February 2006 to here, and found some sweet photos. Yay! There are several photos there, and I was so glad. I don’t even want to remember all the ones that are lost…

But, all is not lost. When I think of God and I think of the photos, I know they will one day all be burnt up anyway, and they will shadow in comparison to the souls we are taking with us to heaven. I love to scrapbook, and I love to take photos, but the dear ones in those photos are my priority.

Saturday Psalm & Praise

There was much discussion on FaceBook this past week after I posted the link to Is the List of Rules in the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child Already binding to US Law?? Ogden Nomination. There was also much fear.

Psalm 140
1Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; 2Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. 3They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

4Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. 5The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

6I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. 7O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle. 8Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

9As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. 10Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 11Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. 13Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

When I look around and read all that is going on and read what some people would like to do to Bible-believing parents who are home educating their children to love the LORD, life and others, it is shocking. To think that there are still people in America, who, like Hitler, want to persecute, jail and murder people for their faith is just something we need to realize. After all, our brothers and sisters in other lands are being persecuted for their faith daily. But we must not fear.

As I was searching through ancient blog posts, I found this. It is full of praise and love and hope. I think we need this encouragement, and I pray you will thank the LORD for Victory in his name!

Alpha and Omega

He is the First and Last,
The Beginning and the End!

He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be …
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!

He was bruised and brought healing! He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom! He was dead and brought life!

He is risen and brings power! He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can’t understand him,
The armies can’t defeat Him,
The schools can’t explain Him, and The leaders can’t ignore Him.
Herod couldn’t kill Him, The Pharisees couldn’t confuse Him, and

The people couldn’t hold Him!
Nero couldn’t crush Him, Hitler couldn’t silence Him,
The New Age can’t replace Him, and “Oprah” can’t explain Him away!

He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.

His ways are right, His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.

He is my Savior, He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord, and He rules my life!

I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.

I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful,
the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.

His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me,
never forsake me, never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me and
never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!

When I fall, He lifts me up! When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong! When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage! When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me! When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me! When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me! When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me! When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody everywhere, every time, and every way.

He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine!

My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.
So, if you’re wondering why I feel so secure, understand this…

He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul.

Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!

Be blessed and hope in the LORD. All is not lost!

blessings,

Jacque Sig

My Mum is a scrabooking consultant just like you were (same company) and so photos are pretty important to us. We take heaps of photos – Dad and Daniel are really quiet good. So sorry to hear about those photos gone!

It’s funny how the subject of earthly things vs. heavenly things keep popping up… last week and the week before that Dad preached twice on treasures in heaven, and how everything we do goes into account before God – even just a simple word of encouragement is a treasure in God’s eyes. With the bushfires raging throughout Victoria it makes one realize how short-lived everything is, and reminds you that the greatest treasure, as Colin Buchanan would say, is “Peace with God”!

When I die, I’m not leaving home, I’m going home.
When I die, will I be leaving my treasures, or going to my treasures?

Thanks for your post Mrs D! I’ll leave you guys now to getting the next GGM up and printed! :D

I’m so sorry to hear about you guys losing all your stuff on the computer! That happened to me once and I lost the majority of Landon’s baby pictures online. That was devastating. Luckily I had a ‘feeling’ to post as many videos and pictures on their baby blogs online and two weeks later, my recent computer died. PTL!

So right, that everything will be burned up. It is sad to lose things like photos, but on the other hand we need to be careful not to cling on to things.
I like the idea that if our children accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour then they join us in heaven. That is why the time we spend with our children now is so precious, and not wasted.

jennys last blog post..One Year Bible I can’t believe it is Saturday again!

I am so glad to finally be home Jacque. I sure missed communicating with you. :O) My computer crashed just before I left town, but a friend of ours came over while I was gone and recovered everything PTL! I don’t have a CD burner in here yet so I can’t save everything I have to disc just yet. My husband said he woudl get me one this week.

After Mrs. Francie Taylor spoke on mentoring women I cried for quite a while. I am thankful to have you in my life Jacque. When I got home my husband wanted to know how the conference went. I cried to him about many things, one being how much I appreciate you as my mentor. There’s no doubt in my mind that God brought you into my life at just the right time.

Thank you for teaching me and encouraging me. I want to do better in my walk and it’s nice to know I can talk to someone who understands our convictions and encourages them in us.

I am SO excited that you got everytinh from off of your pc!! How WONDERFUL!

I know I said this to you on GGM, but you are far too gracious and kind to me, my friend. If anything, I believe the LORD has blessed me and taught me so much about love and friendship by bringing you into our lives. It absolutely was the perfect time. Absolutely.

I am amazed and encouraged that the LORD can use me, when I struggle with so many things myself.

Thank you, my dear friend. You are a true friend, and I am blessed more than I can express to know you and your family.

Thank you again for the sweet things you said. YOU are the encouragement to me!
    love, J

Jenny, Jess and Charlene~ I think the LORD is working these things out in his Body as a whole, as far as not clinging to earthly things. I have noticed this before, but especially a lot more since being online and connected to so many people across the globe, that he moves in waves within the Body, to cleanse us from impurities, and we are blessed when we rightly hear and discern these things.

Jess, I loved how you said that “even just a simple word of encouragement is a treasure in God’s eyes.” That is so true. I have been trying to not think about the photos that are probably gone, and not hang onto those things, but to think positively about what actually IS a treasure, like Jenny mentioned, our children – family – another human soul, is really most important.

Thank you friends, for the encouragement you give me. What a blessing it is to have lovely friends in the LORD that I will likely meet only when we all ge to heaven!
love and blessings to you all!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
