GOOT Garlic Oil Salve for What Ails You

Posted By Jacque on January 5, 2008

[EDIT 2009] Please be sure to read about the hows and whys to use GOOT. It really is a great remedy, and you will be amazed at the results. I will be amazed if you are not! Be sure to leave a comment when you have used it and share the remedy with your friends! They will really appreciate it!!

Goot Recipe
I will have you know that we have been using this remedy for a few years, and this is the first actual recipe I found for it. I am glad I found it, because my recipe is for olive oil and garlic, and I chopped it instead of putting it into the blender/food processor. I just leave the garlic chunks in mine, and I notice it does get stronger as it ages.

I love this list of all of the ailments this mixture can be used for. We put it into little noses today as well as into ears, and I can already see a marked improvement. We always rub it on the bottoms of feet and put socks on, because your feet are like a direct line to your bloodstream. Recently, I rubbed some on Isaac’s chest, and he coughed when it reached his nose… ahhhh! good! That meant that it works like Vick’s too! Great! We rub it across the bridge of the nose and the outside of the ears too.

[EDIT 2008] We all had Influenza this past winter, and Caleb had it for six weeks. I used GOOT on feet, in ears, up noses, on chests, behind the ears, and on glands on the face. It was such a great help! In some cases, certain symptoms disappeared completely within a few minutes. Poor Caleb spiked a fever in only an hour and was so very sick, but I kept up on the GOOT, and even gave him breast milk, which always gave a very marked improvement within the hour. Rubbing it on the feet and putting socks on the Littles was probably the most effective, if you don’t really want to try it. I just slathered them all up though!

[EDIT 2009] I know some of this is a repeat, but I have been asked how to or where to apply this, and I am going to tell you what we do:

You can make GOOT w/out the coconut oil, but I will tell you that using the Virgin Coconut Oil in it makes a huge difference!

Rub it around the outside of your ears, on the inside, and across your face, following your sinuses-around your nose too.
Get the lymph nodes below your ears on your neck and even under your arms if you want to.
I always do that, and then also on the soles of the feet. It is very quickly absorbed from there into your bloodstream.
I blend ours in the blender and I don’t strain it. :)
Putting it into your ear is a good idea. Put it into your nose if you are having sinus issues there too. I make sure I don’t put any of the garlic chunks into the ear or nose though. :)

Oh, and sit in the sunshine if it’s shining!!  That will do wonders too!

GOOT Garlic Oil Treatment
Anti-infective/Anti-fungal/Anti-parasites

MAKING GOOT

You will need:

3Tbs Virgin Coconut Oil
3 Tbs Olive Oil
3 Tbs fresh, chopped garlic

If the coconut oil is not liquid, you will have to warm it until melted. I warm it under hot water, not on the stove. Then you will add three tablespoons of olive oil and mix them together. Next, add three tablespoons of fresh chopped garlic. I chop up my garlic in the blender a bit with a bit of the oil, then add the rest of the oil and blend at high speed for two minutes. Another suggestion is to use a coffee grinder. Pour mixture through a screen to remove chunks of garlic that the blender may have missed. Pour into a wide mouth jar and label it “GOOT.” Place in a refrigerator.

Freshly made, the mixture is a milky color and runny. GOOT turns into a thick soft paste after one hour. After being in the fridge for several hours, it is just hard like a salve easy to spread.

Don’t worry if your GOOT melts. The oils will not stay hard when warmed. It’s fine. You can use it as the oil or you can put it back in the fridge and cool it again.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

GOOT, rubbed into the skin, transfers raw garlic oil directly into the blood stream. Raw garlic is a natural antibiotic that does not carry the bad flora that a Rx antibiotic will put into your intestines.

Apply on the feet of children or infants to fight infections. Rub on chest for chest colds, pneumonia or rub into nostrils for sinus infections. Place on cotton swab for ear infections. Apply directly to sores inside the mouth. Rub on Athlete’s foot or genital area for jock itch. Insert GOOT into affected area for yeast or other related infections. Apply on rashes any place. GOOT kills Candida, parasites, bad bacteria and virus by direct application.

In addition, it treats systemic infections by absorption through the skin into the blood supply and travels throughout the body. After two weeks, make a new batch of GOOT.

    Hi Jacque,

I lost my recipie for GOOT and did an internet search and yours came up! I posted your link on my daughter’s website for her visiters to have also. My daughter is in treatment for Leukemia (almost done with treatment) and has had MASSIVE sinus and ear infection due to her low immune system. GOOT is new to us and we just rave over it! God bless you and your little ones!

Thanks for this recipe & instructions…I have used just olive oil infused with garlic similarly for ear infections, but am looking forward –well, not to anybody being sick, but to trying out your formula. The EVOO/garlic combination really amazed me when I used it together with raw honey to treat an abscess on one of our guinea pigs after topical antibiotic ointment produced no results.

I would just like to add that GOOT is a wonderful antibiotic. I had a huge gash on my toe because when I took a shower last saturday I dropped my Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom shower gel on my toe. Didn’t notice I had a huge cut on it til later that evening when my toe was hurting like crazy. I went for 5 days with nothing on it, but just a wet washcloth for a bit one day. Then I noticed it was yellowy and took a closer look to see if it was infected. It was. So I took the scab off the cut and cleaned it out. Then I put some goot on it and covered it with some gauze. Two or three hours later, there was no pain, so swelling, and no ooze, all of which there had been for the whole 5 days before. My toe is now almost completely healed and it doesn’t hurt at all!

So next time you have a painful cut or scrape or anything, put some GOOT on it and it will be better in no time! ;)

Hi folks, I hope not to use this stuff, but if needed I know it will work[faith]. I rarely am sick with colds and such. Growing up my Grams had alot of remedies and alot of these things are making the rounds again I see. My suggestion is to teach the little ones to wash their hands, make a big deal out of it. Teach them to sneeze into the crook of their sleeve and not to touch anything after sneezing except a bar of soap. I know this works.

Thanks so much for the recipe. Quick q… where can I get coconut oil? Never even heard of that. I have terrible bronchitis right now and my cough is HORRIBLE. Is there anything else I can substitute for the coconut oil or should I run to the store in the AM? I’ve been trying garlic/honey mix and it’s just not helping. Thanks from the Barking Seal!

  23. Jacque says:

Marilyn, I am not sure what the origin is, but, before I ever heard of GOOT, we were using just the garlic with the olive oil.
However, in reply to Connie Jean, you can use the olive oil in lieu of the coconut oil if you have to. It would be better than not using the GOOT at all.
I have made it without the coconut oil, and I used just a tad less olive oil than I would have coconut oil. The benefits of using virgin coconut oil topically are many, but the antibiotic properties of the garlic in olive oil are so great that it is worth using.

You will want to use virgin coconut oil in it when you can. There are many benefits to using it topically, such as lowering fever, strengthening your immune system, as well as it being anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Here are some more topical benefits: http://www.thevirgincoconutoil.com/articleitem.php?articleid=184
I also found this page, which has many benefits and great comment interaction with people who have used the VCO for many ailments: http://www.organicfacts.net/organic-oils/organic-coconut-oil/health-benefits-of-coconut-oil.html

SO…. we are going to make sure we make it with the coconut oil. We get ours at Kroger, in the organic section.

For your cough, you can also use honey, apple cider vinegar, or both of them mixed together. I mix them in a tablespoon, with equal parts and just take it together. Kroger also carries organic ACV, and you should be sure to use raw local honey.

I also found out that AVC, Mixed 3 tbsp into half a cup of water and sipped slowly, cuts through the nasty stuff in your throat, and it’s also deadly to the strep bacteria. Other remedies include colloidal silver and cayenne pepper. I have not used the C.Silver, but to use the cayenne pepper, put 1/8 tsp into half a glass of warm water. Gargle until all but about 1/2 tsp is left, then swallow the last bit.
More info about that here: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/strep_throat.html

I am working on getting all of this info onto its own page for easy reference.
Praying that you will be healed of your bronchitis.

Hi, I live in England and have never heard of GOOT. I take garlic & echinacea tablets (Allerclear) at the onset of colds and flu, which I find work fast, and thought the GOOT would give it an extra boost, unfortunately I am sensitive to olives, will it work with just the coconut oil and garlic or is there another oil I could use to replace the olive oil? I love this friendly and informative website and have added it to my favourites :)

I would definitely just use the Virgin Coconut Oil then. Don’t add any oils that are synthetic or corn-based for sure. I think just the VCO is fine. We use VCO for so many things in our home, and we love it!

We do take fresh organic garlic, and we use it in a lot of our dishes. We also cook with only olive oil and coconut oils. We use olive oil on salads and coconut oil in about everything else. We take coconut oil by itself, in coffee, on our skin, etc…

We keep GOOT in the fridge for the most part, but not all the time. We have not had it spoil.
It will not stay firm in the cupboard. We do not strain ours, so it is not just oil, and we use it at room temp quite often.

As for the GOOT acronym, I believe it is for
    Garlic
    Oil(Olive)
    Oil (coconut)
    Treatment

:) Thanks for linking back to me Lisa! I will check that out!
