O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

I am loving Psalm 119. I will not add anything to it, except for more Scripture. I pray that you will take a few minutes, read these words and absorb them into your spirit. Be blessed!
Psalm 119
1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
8I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
17Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
18Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
21Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
22Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
23Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
24Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.
25My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
26I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
27Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
Another chapter that I have saved this week is Isaiah 55:
1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
I hope that you are blessed this week and have time to meditate on His WORD and the blessings in your life and consider if there is any way in your heart that is not pleasing to Him.

Those are really great scriptures to remember, Mama! WOW! the beginning of Isaiah sounds like it is saying what we talk about people having money to buy what they want to buy! That is really powerful! I don’t think I have ever thought about that scripture like that before! wow!

I love the Psalms and they lift up my soul. David writes beautiful psalms and they are a comfort in our times of need and through times of troubles! Thank you for writing that today! This one, I could apply to my own life and ask God of the very same things! Thank you!

You know, Amanda, I hadn’t thought of that like that when I read it, but, you are right. It seems that we never have enough money, except when we want something we want. It does fit into what we were talking about.
I don’t even know why I found that Scripture. I was looking for something, and that came up, and the verses after that were the ones that I was focusing on. I hadn’t even thought about he first ones. I love it when we all talk about Scripture. Even online!
I don’t know what to do about my adapter. I suppose you and Dad will have to go to FW tomorrow then. huh.
I love you dear daughter. I am so happy that we can all blog together. I am glad we are all in the same circles, and I hope we never lose that desire to be close in all of these types of things!
Love you~ Mom

I am glad this was a comfort to you Charlene. I have needed this comfort also, and I am thankful that the LORD is there to comfort us, even when all we can do is to present His WORD. It is sufficient.
