Isaac and His Water Experimentations
Posted By Jacque on December 8, 2008
Isaac has always been nicknamed Einstein around here. Not really because he is a genius (though sometimes we wonder), but rather because he is always deep in thought and knows things. He listens and remembers and can tell you things you wouldn’t expect him to know.
It was no surprise last week when I looked out from the porch and found him outside by himself in the rain. We have tried over and over to fill in that hole. It is a mess right next to the sidewalk when it is wet, and we have to go around it to get to the garage. I finally gave up and let them dig in it.
Now, to the average person, it looks like he is just playing in the mud puddle, making a mess, likely expecting nothing to come out of his play but a load of laundry.
But, to the trained eye, to the mother who knows that every thing we experience is a chance to learn and remember,
I see him moving the mud around, watching the water paths, and making barriers to contain the water
and filling them to see where the water would go from there.
I am so thankful that the LORD has blessed us with the freedom and desire to train our children up in the way He has created them to go.
You know that feeling you get as a mom when you just watch them and wonder what they are thinking? What they will be?
I love homeschooling!
blessings,

That’s cute! I love watching Timmy experiment with things. Timmy is a builder/creator boy. He will play with the same 8 Legos for hours and create different things. Yesterday he took 4 blankets, folded them lengthwise, rolled them up and created four barriers. He said it’s for Lady to sit inside of. He then took two of our scarves and folded them like n accordion so they would stack high and then said it was Wal-mart and parked all the cars in front of them. ;O) lol

I love it! I know exactly what you mean. My four-year old boy was playing in a pile of sand he found yesterday. I went up, and he was making a sand path for bugs! What a sweet boy.

Lisa was telling me your story with Isaac this morning at Starbucks! Being a mommy to boys is a BLESSING! I find it so interesting too and a good mommy needs to keep watch and learn what her boys are doing so she can encourage them in that direction!
I am keeping an eye on Landon. He is just awesome in doing caring things, like running to get Brady a sipping, kissing his boo boos, and when I was sleeping, Landon covered the blanket over my feet. What a sweetheart!!
And Brady’s biggest joy in the world are the LIGHTS! He says “a’ights, a’ights” and he loves staring that things that move and light up.
How fun it is to be a Mom to boys!!

Thank you Lord for our times as children. Times that we have no thought for the morrow~! When today is the most important day and we live in that moment. I long to have that child like faith…the heart of a child to grow closer to my heavenly Father.
I am so happy and filled with joy for you sis. You truly are blessed. Since I’ve been home the last 10 mos I have learned that each day is an amazing gift. I still may not have all the promises fulfilled that God has promised to me but I have a heart of thankfulness. The past 2 months have been difficult though and I long for days that I can spend with you, the children, mom etc and have my own home filled with children; until then I rejoice with you over wonderful moments such as these with sweet Isaac.
I know I haven’t posted as often lately, comment either….I am desperately working on my “want to” I need some umph!
Love and miss all of you,
Jen
