December 2008 Published and Links of Interest

Posted By Jacque on December 1, 2008

Whew… we did it again! December 2008 is published!! I cannot tell you how exciting it is to work with these sweet girls each month getting their articles edited, photos added and published! And Lisa does SUCH a beautiful job with all the new graphics each month! I was surprised by the special header she chose this month with me in mind. God has blessed me with such good friends, including my husband Matt!

Lisa made another “sweet” desktop for you, and interviewed her second oldest daughter, Monica, this month.  Anyway, I am up at early hours, eating M&Ms with Eric who got a full-night’s rest and is up for the day. Me, on the other hand, well, I will be going to sleep here very soon! I have a few more announcements.

Homesteading Carnival

Jocelyn has published the Homesteading Carnival: The VERY Late Addition! Have you seen her Homesteading Carnivals around the blogosphere? It is a traveling list of homestead-y posts, recipes, and ideas all in one place, a different place, each week!

and a BIG

THANK YOU AMANDA!

I have to say thank you to Amanda. She pitched in and put up all the articles, added photos, signatures, uploaded photos, and even had to create and switch out graphics last minute. She was an invaluable help to me, and I am blessed to have her! Thanks Amanda!!

Jocelyn has also published The Weekly. If you have not visited it, you need to. It changes weekly, with a new poll, new contests, prayer requests and other blog community info!

A Personal Note:

Many bloggers aspire to gain notoriety and have oodles of readers. I am happy with all of you who are my friends and leave me a comment when you can, and encourage me and read along to be a part of our lives. I am so blessed, I cannot even describe it. There are times when things happen that take our eyes off of the REAL life, and I don’t mean ‘not the virtual’. I mean the REAL BLESSINGS! I received an email the other day from a friend, and I cried. IT was really nothing but a sister understanding and being there, and it hit me how blessed I am. And I cried. Thank you LORD!

Thank *you* for being a part of my tiny little blog on the www. I pray the LORD blesses you too, as He has us!

First Class Articles

If you have some time, you will want to see what all the fuss is about in Grafted in The Magic of Christmas by Sisterlisa, and check out what I am Making My List about. Sometimes all you can say is, For Goodness’ Sake, which Amanda did this month., but she also tells of The Most Important Friendship, and I am sure you will agree with her.

Lady Jess talks about The Season’s Shows, and Rachel remembers how Martha and Mary were so different in The Spirit of Goodness. Lady Olivia shares a touching story about some Memories From Nana, and the GGM Team write together In Remembrance Of Him.

If you have children, you will want to read Sisterlisa’s flat-out, nitty-gritty post on flirtations and the proper way for a young lady to behave in the presence of young men. Thank you Sisterlisa, for bringing up the fact that sometimes, beauty is in The Eye of the Beholder, and sometimes it is just an evil way to get ungodly attention. (I caution young adults to get permission to read this Biblical post.)

If you have never studied Hanukkah: The Festival of Lights, you will want to. You may even want to start Celebrating Hanukkah Today in your own home.

There you have it folks… a run-down of my last 6 hours. Copy, paste, upload, edit, delete, change… That’s what it takes to publish the top-notch, in a class by itself monthly free online magazine for Godly girls and mothers each month! Sisterlisa and I do have a lot of fun publishing it with the girls though!

Grab a tag and/or the calendar and promote GGM on your blog or website!

Just a reminder… I tagged

I shall tag my sweet Sister, Jennifer, and SisterLisa, Christina, Trisch, Dianne, and Trish, and the rest of you all who read it in My Main Man Tag. Join me in writing your out today!

Have a GREAT WEEK!! I can see the snow blowing gently out the window… I am going to go crash….

Oooops, and Please Pray

Oh, and please pray for Jocelyn… she had a goat fall on her wrist a few weeks ago, and we will likely be getting an xray sometime later today…

z-z-z-z-z-z-zz-z-z-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

blessings!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.'
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.

Jacque Mrs. Jacque Dixon and her husband, Matt, train their nine children up in YHVH's narrow way, home schooling on their small homestead in Indiana. She is co-owner and Manager of Gleaning the Harvest, a mission founded by the Dixons, presenting widowed/single mother home school families to YHVH's people. She is also owner and publisher of Training Sons to Be Men, and Training Daughters, Teaching Wives. Walking Therein is where Jacque writes encouraging home school articles, articles of faith, and the daily lives of the Dixon family.
