Back Home

Posted By Jacque on June 22, 2008

Ok, so several of you knew, and many of you probably surmised that we were on vacation for the past two weeks. Yes, we traveled all of 5,ooo+ miles over the past two weeks, and met and visited four blogger families as well as family in Louisiana and New Mexico that we haven’t seen in years, some up to 17 years!

In the Van, GA

It was a long trip, and we are happy to be off the road, but I woulda’ stayed if I could have!! I wish we could have stayed in LA longer and visited with Grandpa and Aunts and Uncles, but maybe we will see them again soon! A week was not long enough to stay with my mom and my sister and Adrian, either.

Be looking for updates on all of our blogs of all of our adventures and our 3,000+ photos!!

We were blessed to meet:

Dawn and her great family

Brooke and her parents and sisters

Josephine Lirette and her daughters, Jordan and Sarah, and Sandy and her children. We didn’t get to meet Celeste, but we wish we could have!

Sprittibee and her hubby(unfortunately for only about five minutes) and her little munchkins.

Chickie, Sbees momma

I can’t count Heather, Chickie, Kaden and Morgan as ‘meeting’, since we already got to meet them in April, but it was fun seeing them again! And, I’m gonna need that corn recipe, too. :)

Dixons at Sprittibee’s

It was a blessing to meet all of these dear friends. We were humbled and blessed to meet and pray with the Lirette family. If you haven’t met them online yet, please go over and read Josephine’s story. And pray for them. They are a dear family. I am sad right now thinking about leaving them, and I so wish I could just go over right now and sit in her living room with her or weed her garden with her.

Thank you to each and everyone of you, my friends. It was a time we will never forget.

I am bummed I didn’t get to post for Caleb’s Birthday or Matt’s. You can read the birthday tributes here:

Our Cowboy, Caleb

Cowboy Caleb

My Superman!

Amanda’s Little Superman

Happy Birthday Caleb and Daddy! :)

I am also behind on my Saturday Psalm and Praise Meme and Rosa of Linden Castle discussion at HSB Literary Club, for which I truly apologize!

Today, June 22nd, is my grandmother’s birthday, mom’s mom. The anniversary of her death was on Friday, the 20th, which was also Matt’s birthday. Times slips by so quickly… don’t waste a moment of it. I need to have that drilled into my head sometimes.

blessings!

I think it would be a GREAT! photo for the frame!

One thing I noticed at everyone’s houses we visited was all of the family photos they have on the walls. I have to admit that we have very few… :O

I am going to do a collage of thos “Cowboy Caleb” photos though and hang them in their room. And I will be adding and printing off more photos and hanging them in frames too.

    :D

  7. We loved, loved, loved having you, although I’m sure non-bloggers think we’re both a little crazy: you for staying with people you’ve never met and us for having you. :-)

You have an absolute beautiful family! What a blessing to be able to travel together– and to have a little help from such wonderful young ladies in the back there. ;) I am completely bummed that I did not get to see y’all, but Lord willing, we’ll meet one of these days.

And that picture of Caleb in the red cowboy hat and that expression on his face is PRICELESS! I love it!!!

Get some rest and try to recover from all those crazy miles. It’s nice to travel and see friends and have adventures, but there really is no place like home sweet home.

We WILL be going back there, and we WILL be meeting you!! :)

I could not believe that of the only two days we could meet you, you were having oodles of people over!
We thought of you as we drove by, though!

I am going to get Caleb’s Cowboy pictures printed off and framed for his room. I bought a Cowboy~Western set from my sister/Home Interiors, and I can’t wait to put it all together!

That’s a great photo of you all, Mrs Dixon! You must have had a fantastgreat time! How did you manage eight kids (well, Amanda and Jocelyn don’t really count as kids) in your van and keep it clean? We have four kids and our car is a disgrace after a week of car traveling… with major stops! When Daniel was four, we traveled around Australia, and when we came home, we found a little surprise… a pile of fluff picked out from his ‘cuddly’!! It was so funny – from then on, his cuddly’s just been a bit of skin!

    Luli’s car seat — I love it!

    Love,
    Jess

  18. Jacque says:

    Haha Jessica!
I do love that photo too. Amanda has some good ones I need to snatch, too!

We cleaned the van each time we stayed somewhere, and twice in Las Cruces!! It is near impossible to keep everything neat and packed in a “moving house” for a week, but, you do your best!
We had to clean it. I can’t imagine if we hadn’t!

I love Lucy’s car seat too! Isn’t it cute!
That is so cute about your brother’s cuddly.

Yes, as I said, I am glad to be off the road…. not sure I am glad to be home though. It isn’t the same as it was before we left.
    It’s weird.

    Miss you too sis!

  21. Oooh, I would so love to go on a trip like that! It looks like you all had a blast. I love all of the pictures.

I am glad you are all back now. Don’t worry about being behind on the HSB literary club book. I haven’t even started the book, and then I lost it. Yikes! I feel bad right about now. :)

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.' 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Welcome to my online home, Walking Therein. I am a 40-something wife and Momma, trying to walk therein, squeezing in moments of Scripture reading, praise and worship and just quiet between the breastfeeding, child training, cooking, cleaning, child training, laundry, home school, child training, online ministries, and spending individual moments with hubby, adult children, Middles, Littles, and the infant.
Tis the life the Father gave me, and I am blessed to walk in it.
Did I mention the child training?

"Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him."

I am a Believer in the one true God and the Messiah, his Son, whose name is Yehoshua. We keep his commandments because that is what his people do.
"...God's people, those who observe his commands and exercise Yehoshua's faithfulness."
Revelation 12, 14, 22
