Happy 17th Birthday, Jocelyn

What do you say about a daughter who is like a best friend? What do you say about a young lady who makes decisions based on her convictions and denies herself those things that are harmful to her, both spiritually and physically or things that are dear to her because it is God’s will?

That I am amazed? That I am proud? That I am thankful?

I say, “I love you.”

I say, “Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to know her, to be her mother.”

Honestly, I can write these words about Jocelyn or Amanda. They are both my best friends and confidantes, and I am proud to call them friends and daughters.

Jocelyn, if I could give you the world, I would wrap it up for you. As it is,we got you a better gift. I am so glad that Grandma and Aunt Jen can be here for your birthday party, even if you did find out the surprise before they got here. Oh, and your siblings, another best gift… seven of them. And a marriage the is not perfect, but is a part of my life I can live out faithfully before you, struggling and victoriously, to teach you that God is God, and I am not.

I know that this is going to be the best birthday ever! Happy Birthday, my girl, and congratulations on seventeen years!

Thank you, Amanda, for throwing a blog party for your sister!

Love, Mom

Please go leave Jocelyn a comment and tell her Happy Birthday
and how much she means to you!

*wipes tears* What does one say to this? Thanks? Hmmm methinks we’re both at a loss for words, which this time is a good thing.

Thank you so much for continuing to guard and guide me through these storms that we face, physically and spiritually, on a daily basis.

Love you lots and thanks for the TREMENDOUS birthday… I think my hair will turnout to be just fine for the party. :D

    LOVE YOU!

What a blessing to have such lovely daughters/friends. We have really enjoyed getting to know all of you, too.

We just got home from seeing the movie Expelled. It is a must see. It was amazing and so well done. Sadly there were only 9 people in the theater watching it.

Looking forward to tomorrow, actually it is so late I should say later today!

Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
and you are to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding, and with all your strength.'
{Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-30}

Welcome

Hello friends and welcome! The coffee is fresh, the tea is hot, so pull up a comfy chair and sit with me for a bit.

Who am I? Nobody special; just a flawed wife and mom, daughter, sister, and friend chosen by YHVH to follow and tell about him.

Jacque Mrs. Jacque Dixon and her husband, Matt, train their nine children up in YHVH's narrow way, home schooling on their small homestead in Indiana. She is co-owner and Manager of Gleaning the Harvest, a mission founded by the Dixons, presenting widowed/single mother home school families to YHVH's people. She is also owner and publisher of Training Sons to Be Men, and Training Daughters, Teaching Wives. Walking Therein is where Jacque writes encouraging home school articles, articles of faith, and the daily lives of the Dixon family.
