Yah has been teaching and instructing me for the past week+ in some things. I have always recognized and heard his voice and knew it was him. From the time I was just coming to know his grace I heard him speak to me in his Scriptures. I have heard his still small voice when he reminds me of things. I have often wondered why I am blessed to know him in this way, but all I can do is to praise him for his love, grace and mercy to allow me to know him in this way.

So, this week, I have heard him tell me, “No, wait,” several times. As I went to write something or to answer someone, I was told to “Be still.” So I have been.

Psalm 46:10
10 “Be still, and learn that I am Elohim, I am exalted over the nations, I am exalted over the earth.”

He wants us to know him this way. He wants us to hear him and be still before him. He wants to be the counsel we hear. He wants to be who we are in unity with. He wants to be the one we are still with, so we can know that HE is the Most High God, Elohim, Yah, Creator of all things and everlasting.

He wants to be first and foremost, and that is my prayer for our family and all of our children, that He be first and foremost and all else that draws us away from him will be removed from our lives, however He chooses to do so.

Exodus 20
1 Then Elohim spoke all these words: 2 “I am YHVH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the abode of slavery. c 3 “You are to have no other gods before me. 4 You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline. 5 You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, YHVH your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me and obey my mitzvot.

We must be a people set apart, walking in his ways and serving Him as god alone.

Praise be his Name forever!

Shabbat Shalom!

In July, 2007, I had been wanting to begin a meme to worship Yahveh one day a week. I wanted it to be a worship meme in a manner different than most Christians are used to. I didn’t want to post the most popular worship songs just to do a post and have a great meme. I wanted to honestly write to give praise and worship to the Father. I found that most worship songs have the wrong focus. For this reason, I made one of the qualifications that the Psalm or song has to be a praise of Yahveh-God. In other words, I would like to see Psalms and songs that are not all about me, the worshiper or about how I have been blessed or can be blessed, etc. I have heard too many songs in recent years sung about me, my problems, my worship, etc. I wanted this to be directed to Yahveh-God. This is who we are to worship, and we need to make sure our hearts are set in that direction.

Truly, we all have to work it out for ourselves, and you need to make it yours. However, it is high time worship is not just all about how I want to do it or how I am this because of my worship. Saturday Psalm & Praise is a meme witha purpose: Just bring it to Yahveh-God for His glory. This is to be an offering to Him.

Since the inception of this meme 2+ years ago, we have become a Torah Observant family. This simply means that if the Scripture says it, we are compelled to do it, because we love and honour the Father, Yahveh. It does not mean that our salvation has changed in its meaning or its requirements. We gained our salvation through the Messiah, Yahshua, when we accepted him as our Messiah. Walking in the narrow path of the Scriptures is a worship and commitment to Yahveh and his love and promises to us.

Being Torah Observant, we celebrate the seventh day Sabbath, as Yahveh did in Genesis 2:

2 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce.

as he commanded his people to in Exodus 31:

12 ADONAI said to Moshe, 13 “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats; for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations; so that you will know that I am ADONAI, who sets you apart for me. 14 Therefore you are to keep my Shabbat, because it is set apart for you. Everyone who treats it as ordinary must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it is to be cut off from his people. 15 On six days work will get done; but the seventh day is Shabbat, for complete rest, set apart for ADONAI. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat must be put to death. 16 The people of Isra’el are to keep the Shabbat, to observe Shabbat through all their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the people of Isra’el forever; for in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and rested.’”

All this to say that I post a praise to Yahveh on Saturday, on this meme, and many times, my post refers to Shabbat or Torah. You are welcome to do the same or not. This meme is specifically to praise Yahveh, and to praise Yahshua, but not only to write about Shabbat or Torah on. Please feel free to join us.

If you would like to join me in my Saturday Psalm & Praise, it’s simple!

1. Write a post on your blog about a favorite Psalm, Hymn or Worship Chorus or one that has spoken to you in the past week. Honestly, you are welcome to choose just about any Scripture. The only qualification is that whatever you choose has to be in praise of Yahveh-God.

2. You may just blog the Psalm/song or you can tell what impact is has had on you and your thoughts. Sometimes just the Psalm is enough. Sometimes we have to let out our own words of praise!

3. Please link your post to this week’s original SP&P. Please link this post on your post. I put a simple statement you can copy for this below.

4. Please do not upload the icon to your hoster and put it on your blog. Please get the code (that is HERE) or copy the image and put it on your post linked as is.

5. Oh, and make sure you sign your name to the Linky and link your actual post. Leave a comment if you like.

I try to get around and leave a comment on each post that links here, BUT I am too busy now to even blog more than a couple of times a week, so I have found it harder to get around and do that lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

Here is a simple phrase for you to copy when you participate to link back to WT:

This post is a part of Saturday Psalm & Praise, hosted by Walking Therein. We welcome you to participate. You can read about the meme HERE.

May you have peace in your household, be blessed and Shabbat Shalom!

This is so encouraging! I am so glad to be sheltered in the shadow of Shaddai. I am thankful for his love and protection. I am thankful for family and the friends he gives as an expression of his love. In the happiest moment, we are not alone, and in the deepest pit, we have a refuge.

Psalms 91
1 You who live in the shelter of ‘Elyon, who spend your nights in the shadow of Shaddai, 2 who say to ADONAI, “My refuge! My fortress! My Elohim, in whom I trust!” 3 he will rescue you from the trap of the hunter and from the plague of calamities; 4 he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his truth is a shield and protection. 5 You will not fear the terrors of night or the arrow that flies by day, 6 or the plague that roams in the dark, or the scourge that wreaks havoc at noon. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it won’t come near you. 8 Only keep your eyes open, and you will see how the wicked are punished.

9 For you have made ADONAI, the Most High, who is my refuge, your dwelling-place. 10 No disaster will happen to you, no calamity will come near your tent; 11 for he will order his angels to care for you and guard you wherever you go. 12 They will carry you in their hands, so that you won’t trip on a stone. 13 You will tread down lions and snakes, young lions and serpents you will trample underfoot. 14 “Because he loves me, I will rescue him; because he knows my name, I will protect him. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble. I will extricate him and bring him honor. 16 I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.“

What a blessing to know that I have a Most High Elohim who is my refuge and my dwelling place. No matter what happens or where I am, HE is the refuge and shelter. There is no fear. There is no harm can be done, as long as we are walking in his paths and his instruction. It is a very safe place to be!

Be Thou My Vision
English Translation
by Mary Byrne, 1905

Be thou my vision O Lord of my heart
None other is aught but the King of the seven heavens.

Be thou my meditation by day and night.
May it be thou that I behold even in my sleep.

Be thou my speech, be thou my understanding.
Be thou with me, be I with thee

Be thou my father, be I thy son.
Mayst thou be mine, may I be thine.

Be thou my battle-shield, be thou my sword.
Be thou my dignity, be thou my delight.

Be thou my shelter, be thou my stronghold.
Mayst thou raise me up to the company of the angels.

Be thou every good to my body and soul.
Be thou my kingdom in heaven and on earth.

Be thou solely chief love of my heart.
Let there be none other, O high King of Heaven.

Till I am able to pass into thy hands,
My treasure, my beloved through the greatness of thy love

Be thou alone my noble and wondrous estate.
I seek not men nor lifeless wealth.

Be thou the constant guardian of every possession and every life.
For our corrupt desires are dead at the mere sight of thee.

Thy love in my soul and in my heart –
Grant this to me, O King of the seven heavens.

O King of the seven heavens grant me this –
Thy love to be in my heart and in my soul.

With the King of all, with him after victory won by piety,
May I be in the kingdom of heaven O brightness of the son.

Beloved Father, hear, hear my lamentations.
Timely is the cry of woe of this miserable wretch.

O heart of my heart, whatever befall me,
O ruler of all, be thou my vision.

~From Wikipedia

This is the first song on my playlist, and it is is a comfort to hear it strike up and play. If you scroll down far enough, it will start playing. There are 3 versions of lyrics Wikipedia, and this is the English translation. You can follow the link to find the other 2.

These words are so perfect for what Yehovah is working in my heart right now. He IS a beloved Father. I praise him today! I pray you are blessed and have a very peaceful and wonderful Shabbat today!

blessings,

Psalm 55:6
I said, “I wish I had wings like a dove! Then I could fly away and be at rest.

We were joking last night about how exhausted we have been feeling for the past week or so. We felt like we were in some sort of sleep-deprivation experiment. Our sleep schedules have been on different shifts due to the sick goat in the garage, as most of our family friends know.

What we need is rest. Let me tell you, if rest is what you need, Our Mighty Elohim-God is the answer. Happily and joyfully, we are celebrating Shabbat today, the appointed day of rest for the people of Yehovah God. Scriptures tell us that he commanded us to rest at this appointed time, on the last day of each week.

We have found joy in the fact that these commandments are easy and a delight, and they were given first to the Israelites, but also included the strangers in the camp (non-Hebrews), and extended to the Gentiles also! We are NOT excluded from Yehovah God in any way. That is Good News!

HE is the true rest.

Matthew 11:28-29
28 “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.“

Here are some other verses on rest, starting with Shabbat, as it is the commanded Day of Rest for Yehovah God’ people.

Exodus 31:15
On six days work will get done; but the seventh day is Shabbat, for complete rest, set apart for ADONAI. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat must be put to death.

Exodus 35:2
On six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is to be a holy day for you, a Shabbat of complete rest in honor of ADONAI. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.

Exodus 34:21
“Six days you will work, but on the seventh day you are to rest – even in plowing time and harvest season you are to rest.

Leviticus 16:31
It is a Shabbat of complete rest for you, and you are to deny yourselves. “This is a permanent regulation.

Leviticus 23:3
“‘Work is to be done on six days; but the seventh day is a Shabbat of complete rest, a holy convocation; you are not to do any kind of work; it is a Shabbat for ADONAI, even in your homes.

Exodus 23:11
But the seventh year, you are to let it rest and lie fallow, so that the poor among your people can eat; and what they leave, the wild animals in the countryside can eat. Do the same with your vineyard and olive grove.

Exodus 23:12
“For six days, you are to work. But on the seventh day, you are to rest, so that your ox and donkey can rest, and your slave-girl’s son and the foreigner be renewed.

I am not trying to make this a post about Shabbat. I just can’t not make it about Shabbat though. My original plan was to write about rest. We truly have needed it. The Scriptures are clear in the rest for our bodies. Yes, there is rest in Yehoshua-Jesus, but, we must understand that HE walked in the full commandments of the Father, and these commandments are (a large part of)why he is the rest. We are to walk like he did. This is his imparting of rest to us: “Follow me.” Walk like HE did. How did he walk? ha. Well, we do not have a very clear perspective of that in our culture. We do not know the hebrew Yehoshua. We only know the Christian Jesus.

Yehovah gives us rest. He gives us an entire day, to be blessed, and separated it for himself. HE SEPARATED IT FOR HIMSELF. (Ex. 20:11)

Ok, I want to scream and shout it out here. THAT is what I want to do to all of the naysayers and those who have decided that “their Sabbath is on Sunday.” I can be arrogant in things. We all can. BUT, is it not arrogant to say we have the right to re-set the appointed time that HE must meet with us? HE set the Sabbat as a Shabbat on the last day, which, by his calendar, starts on the Hebrew Saturday evening – the Julian, Roman calandar’s Friday evening.

There is no SCRIPTURE reference that says either Yehovah or Yehoshua changed that. We can make all the assumptions we want, but it is NOT there. (and, honestly, WHO really RESTS on Sunday?)

…. Ok, back to regularly scheduled blog post….

We must NOT take charge over it and then do as WE please to make it a Sabbath. It is not ours to do. To set it apart and delight in him for that day IS a rest to our bodies and our spirits. It is refreshing, and it is necessary for us. He set it as an appointed time that we are to meet with him. Let us meet him at his appointed time.

Let us rest in HIM and the truth of the Scriptures. So many other man-made interpretations take us out of that rest.

Exodus 33:14
He answered, “Set your mind at rest – my presence will go with you, after all.”

Deuteronomy 12:10
But when you cross the Yarden and live in the land ADONAI your God is having you inherit, and he gives you rest from all your surrounding enemies, so that you are living in safety;

2 Corinthians 7:5-6
5 For indeed when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest. On the contrary, we faced all kinds of troubles – altercations without, apprehensions within. 6 But God, who encourages the downhearted, encouraged us with the arrival of Titus!

ALL of the words of Yehovah are TRUE and stand still today. We can take rest and have peace in that. He is GOD and knows all. We still have the promises he gave to the Israelites. We have been blesses to learn that we also have the commandments, and you can’t have one without the other.

Joshua 21
43 So ADONAI gave Isra’el all the land which he swore to give to their ancestors, and they took possession of it and lived in it. 44 Then ADONAI gave them rest all around, according to everything he had sworn to their ancestors. Not a man from all their enemies stood against them; ADONAI handed all their enemies over to 45 Not one good thing that ADONAI had spoken of to the household of Isra’el failed to happen; it all took place.

Psalm 40
1 For the leader. A psalm of David: I waited patiently for ADONAI, till he turned toward me and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up from the roaring pit, up from the muddy ooze, and set my feet on a rock, making my footing firm. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will look on in awe and put their trust in ADONAI. 4 How blessed the man who trusts in ADONAI and does not look to the arrogant or to those who rely on things that are false. 5 How much you have done, ADONAI my God! Your wonders and your thoughts toward us -none can compare with you! I would proclaim them, I would speak about them; but there’s too much to tell!

I think he waited patiently for me, but I am thankful he did hear the cry of my heart. After years of seeking his holiness and understanding his ways, he has turned toward me and heard me. And how blessed I am and our children are to receive the fruit of his instruction!

I DO have a new song on my mouth! He IS awesome and worthy to be trusted. I PRAISE him for drawing me closer and giving me his words to share in love about his ways. I am thankful I can discern the difference in his ways and those of the arrogant or false. There IS SO MUCH to tell!!

6 Sacrifices and grain offerings you don’t want; burnt offerings and sin offerings you don’t demand. Instead, you have given me open ears; 7 so then I said, “Here I am! I’m coming! In the scroll of a book it is written about me. 8 Doing your will, my God, is my joy; your Torah is in my inmost being. 9 I have proclaimed what is right in the great assembly; I did not restrain my lips, ADONAI, as you know. 10 I did not hide your righteousness in my heart but declared your faithfulness and salvation; I did not conceal your grace and truth from the great assembly.”

I am truly grateful that there are no more sacrifices necessary to cover my sins. I am thankful that after hiding my sins for 20 years, he called me to him and began my Journey to his narrow paths today. How precious is his Scripture, his Torah, that he would include me in it as his own.

I will continue to proclaim his words and his truths and be a light that he may draw his people to him and to his ways and out of a fallen world. I am so tremendously and utterly thankful for his revelation of the truth of his grace that is so hidden from Believers today. May we be blessed and quickened in our understanding of his ways.

11 ADONAI, don’t withhold your mercy from me. Let your grace and truth preserve me always. 12 For numberless evils surround me; my iniquities engulf me – I can’t even see; there are more of them than hairs on my head, so that my courage fails me. 13 Be pleased, ADONAI, to rescue me! ADONAI, hurry and help me! 14 May those who seek to sweep me away be disgraced and humiliated together. May those who take pleasure in doing me harm be turned back and put to confusion. 15 May those who jeer at me, “Aha! Aha!” be aghast because of their shame. 16 But may all those who seek you be glad and take joy in you. May those who love your salvation say always, “ADONAI is great and glorious!” 17 But I am poor and needy; may Adonai think of me. You are my helper and rescuer; my God, don’t delay!

Oh, if only this could be grasped. THANK YOU FATHER for your mercy and your grace and your truth. May we give YOU the glory and honour of being our God of grace and mercy. May we not give weight to our own doctrines, but adhere to yours alone! Oh to read and know your Scriptures!! Oh, to not add or take away from them!

Then, when the evils surround us and our own sin overtakes us, we would trust in YOU alone! Convict Believers, I pray, to the truth of your Torah, your Scriptures, and show them that it is your way to walk in your commands. Your Laws are light and easy to walk in. They bring us closer to you and your end for our lives.

Thank you and praise to the name of Yehovah!

What praises do you have of our great and mighty GOD today?
