“It is YHVH who girds me with strength; he makes my way go straight. He makes me swift, sure-footed as a deer, and enables me to stand on my high places. He trains my hands for war until my arms can bend a bow of bronze; “You give me your shield, which is salvation, your right hand holds me up, your humility makes me great.”
Psalms 18:32-35

Let us thank and place our faith in the one who makes our ways straight and enables us to stand in the high places. Time will not always be easy. Times WILL be tough. They will soon be getting a lot tougher. But, as I was discussing with a good friend last evening, we were born for these times and so were our children. We must stand up in the Father and his words, led by the Father’s Spirit and walk in these days. We must place all of our hopes and dreams and trials and shortcomings at his feet and allow him to be our all.

He is, right now, if we will let him, training our hands for war and gives us his shield of salvation as his right hand holds us up. Let us come before him, humbled. Let us strip our own hopes and dreams, our failed dreams, our plans and come to him with no expectations and no offenses, humbly before him following his commandments, walking in what he has for us.

Let us be his people.

Shalom~

Be glad in ADONAI; rejoice, you righteous! Shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

All of us have times in our lives where our hearts are heavy. Whether we are burdened down with despair or grief or hopelessness, most people have lived through these emotions. There will be these times in the lives of humans. There will be times of hopelessness.

What is your heart heavy with today? He knows.

Psalms 16:11
You make me know the path of life; in your presence is unbounded joy, in your right hand eternal delight.

He has his hand there for you to take.

Psalms 30:5
For his anger is momentary, but his favor lasts a lifetime. Tears may linger for the night, but with dawn come cries of joy.

He wants to be the answer to your despair.

Psalms 28:7
Yahveh is my strength and shield; in him my heart trusted, and I have been helped. Therefore my heart is filled with joy, and I will sing praises to him.

He wants to give you joy.

May you have a joyful and blessed Shabbat!

My oldest daughter, who is also my dearest and best friend, sent me an e-card this week with a Scripture on it that is not just a Psalm, but a song too.

Psalm 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Oh how I love the Lord. Oh how I love the undeserved gifts He has given me. Gifts like my husband and my children. Next to my salvation and relationship with the Lord, they are IT.

This verse was a great encouragement to me, and instantly I started singing it. God, our God who is our ever-present shield, is also our glory, and the lifter of our heads.

Psalm 3

1Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

2Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

5I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

blessings~
