In July, 2007, I had been wanting to begin a meme to worship Yahveh one day a week. I wanted it to be a worship meme in a manner different than most Christians are used to. I didn’t want to post the most popular worship songs just to do a post and have a great meme. I wanted to honestly write to give praise and worship to the Father. I found that most worship songs have the wrong focus. For this reason, I made one of the qualifications that the Psalm or song has to be a praise of Yahveh-God. In other words, I would like to see Psalms and songs that are not all about me, the worshiper or about how I have been blessed or can be blessed, etc. I have heard too many songs in recent years sung about me, my problems, my worship, etc. I wanted this to be directed to Yahveh-God. This is who we are to worship, and we need to make sure our hearts are set in that direction.

Truly, we all have to work it out for ourselves, and you need to make it yours. However, it is high time worship is not just all about how I want to do it or how I am this because of my worship. Saturday Psalm & Praise is a meme witha purpose: Just bring it to Yahveh-God for His glory. This is to be an offering to Him.

Since the inception of this meme 2+ years ago, we have become a Torah Observant family. This simply means that if the Scripture says it, we are compelled to do it, because we love and honour the Father, Yahveh. It does not mean that our salvation has changed in its meaning or its requirements. We gained our salvation through the Messiah, Yahshua, when we accepted him as our Messiah. Walking in the narrow path of the Scriptures is a worship and commitment to Yahveh and his love and promises to us.

Being Torah Observant, we celebrate the seventh day Sabbath, as Yahveh did in Genesis 2:

2 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce.

as he commanded his people to in Exodus 31:

12 ADONAI said to Moshe, 13 “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats; for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations; so that you will know that I am ADONAI, who sets you apart for me. 14 Therefore you are to keep my Shabbat, because it is set apart for you. Everyone who treats it as ordinary must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it is to be cut off from his people. 15 On six days work will get done; but the seventh day is Shabbat, for complete rest, set apart for ADONAI. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat must be put to death. 16 The people of Isra’el are to keep the Shabbat, to observe Shabbat through all their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the people of Isra’el forever; for in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and rested.’”

All this to say that I post a praise to Yahveh on Saturday, on this meme, and many times, my post refers to Shabbat or Torah. You are welcome to do the same or not. This meme is specifically to praise Yahveh, and to praise Yahshua, but not only to write about Shabbat or Torah on. Please feel free to join us.

If you would like to join me in my Saturday Psalm & Praise, it’s simple!

1. Write a post on your blog about a favorite Psalm, Hymn or Worship Chorus or one that has spoken to you in the past week. Honestly, you are welcome to choose just about any Scripture. The only qualification is that whatever you choose has to be in praise of Yahveh-God.

2. You may just blog the Psalm/song or you can tell what impact is has had on you and your thoughts. Sometimes just the Psalm is enough. Sometimes we have to let out our own words of praise!

3. Please link your post to this week’s original SP&P. Please link this post on your post. I put a simple statement you can copy for this below.

4. Please do not upload the icon to your hoster and put it on your blog. Please get the code (that is HERE) or copy the image and put it on your post linked as is.

5. Oh, and make sure you sign your name to the Linky and link your actual post. Leave a comment if you like.

I try to get around and leave a comment on each post that links here, BUT I am too busy now to even blog more than a couple of times a week, so I have found it harder to get around and do that lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

Here is a simple phrase for you to copy when you participate to link back to WT:

This post is a part of Saturday Psalm & Praise, hosted by Walking Therein. We welcome you to participate. You can read about the meme HERE.

May you have peace in your household, be blessed and Shabbat Shalom!

This is Shabbat for us: rest, family time, and studying Scriptures. Preferably all at the same time! My Saturday Psalm post is usually a part of that study. It is such a blessing to sit here and discuss and study the Scriptures with our children. Of course, I would love to do that with Matt today, but, alas, he is still working as of yet… but that will change soon, hopefully.

A praise to Yahweh: Bless you Yahweh, for opening our eyes, ears, and hearts to know you in ways we never could have walking in what we knew. Bless you for opening your Scriptures up to us as Yehoshua spoke them and intended them.

As I listened to the video, I was praising HIM for showing us “the Hebraic” versus “the Greek” understandings. I am so thankful that we see the difference now and we can hear things and understand them as they were intended by our Messiah! Oh, what a difference it makes in our understanding!

He freely gave this understanding to us; we did nothing. We did not seek it or change our thinking. HE showed us HIS thinking. All we had to do was be willing to accept his ways of understanding instead of our own ideas of it and be open to him and to his leading, proving it out in the Scriptures. And, of course, we have to be willing to walk as he told us to…

The video discusses the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God. There is a lot of rich information about the Messiah as Rabbi and thees two things he spoke so much about in the New Testament, when he was on this earth. We do not have an understanding for these terms as Yehoshua spoke them. It keeps coming back that all these years of living as Christians, and we are just learning the truth of some of the basics that Yehoshua the Rabbi(as opposed to Jesus the Christian Saviour) meant. It is not hard to understand, just hard to get used to at first. It is mind-blowing that it is lost on us. It is so simple, the things that he really was saying, once you learn it in context. It is sad, but it is a blessing to see it with fresh new understanding of the Rabbi’s own words and his understanding.

Certainly, the Last Days are at hand. He is revealing so much!

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 “4 “Sh’ma, Yisra’el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra'el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one]; 5 and you are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources. 6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; 7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Deuteronomy (D’varim) 10:12-22
12 “So now, Isra’el, all that ADONAI your God asks from you is to fear ADONAI your God, follow all his ways, love him and serve ADONAI your God with all your heart and all your being; 13 to obey, for your own good, the mitzvot and regulations of ADONAI which I am giving you today. 14 See, the sky, the heaven beyond the sky, the earth and everything on it all belong to ADONAI your God. 15 Only ADONAI took enough pleasure in your ancestors to love them and choose their descendants after them -yourselves -above all peoples, as he still does today.

16 Therefore, circumcise the foreskin of your heart; and don’t be stiffnecked any longer! 17 For ADONAI your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty and awesome God, who has no favorites and accepts no bribes. 18 He secures justice for the orphan and the widow; he loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing. 19 Therefore you are to love the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. 20 You are to fear ADONAI your God, serve him, cling to him and swear by his name.

21 He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things, which you have seen with your own eyes. 22 Your ancestors went down into Egypt with only seventy people, but now ADONAI your God has made your numbers as many as the stars in the sky!

Shalom Shabat!
I pray you have a restful Shabat and time to learn the Word and grow in relationship with the Father and Messiah as a family!

21 But in my mind I keep returning to something, something that gives me hope – 22 that the grace of ADONAI is not exhausted, that his compassion has not ended. 23 [On the contrary,] they are new every morning! How great your faithfulness! 24 “ADONAI is all I have,” I say; “therefore I will put my hope in him.

The Steadfast Love of the LORD Never Ceases

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
His mercies never come to an end,
They are new every morning
New every morning

Great is Your faithfulness

Great is Your faithfulness, 0 Lord
Great is Your faithfulness

Just meditating on these words gives me great joy. His love is steady, strong and will never stop. I am in need of mercies all day long, every day, and his, unlike my own, will never end. When I am selfish and in a bad mood and my faithfulness is small and weak, his is great. In the light of this expression of who he is and how loving and giving he is, I am a very small and selfish person.

Even if I were the most humble, giving, loving person, I would still not compare to his mercies and never-ending love. That is the very reason I need salvation. I, by human nature, am in need of his salvation and re-creation of my soul. Daily I fail miserably, but he shows me his new mercies every morning. He stays when I choose to give up on others, even for the moment.

He is a great father and just. He is a merciful teacher, and I am blessed to be able to still be able to study his WORD and his law and to follow in the steps of the greatest teacher, the greatest Rabbi, Jesus – Yeshua.

My soul is overwhelmed with thankfulness, and I pray I can be who I wish to be and be that to all those around me. I pray I can be like my saviour and friend Jesus – Yeshua.

Psalm 103

1 By David: Bless ADONAI, my soul! Everything in me, bless his holy name! 2 Bless ADONAI, my soul, and forget none of his benefits! 3 He forgives all your offenses, he heals all your diseases, 4 he redeems your life from the pit, he surrounds you with grace and compassion, 5 he contents you with good as long as you live, so that your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.

6 ADONAI brings vindication and justice to all who are oppressed. 7 He made his ways known to Moshe, his mighty deeds to the people of Isra’el. 8 ADONAI is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in grace. 9 He will not always accuse, he will not keep his anger forever. 10 He has not treated us as our sins deserve or paid us back for our offenses, 11 because his mercy toward those who fear him is as far above earth as heaven. 12 He has removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. 13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, ADONAI has compassion on those who fear him. 14 For he understands how we are made, he remembers that we are dust. 15 Yes, a human being’s days are like grass, he sprouts like a flower in the countryside – 16 but when the wind sweeps over, it’s gone; and its place knows it no more. 17 But the mercy of ADONAI on those who fear him is from eternity past to eternity future, and his righteousness extends to his children’s children, 18 provided they keep his covenant and remember to follow his precepts.

19 ADONAI has established his throne in heaven; his kingly power rules everything. 20 Bless ADONAI, you angels of his, you mighty warriors who obey his word, who carry out his orders! 21 Bless ADONAI, all his troops, who serve him and do what he wants! 22 Bless ADONAI, all his works, in every place where he rules! Bless ADONAI, my soul!

Bless ADONAI, my soul! Everything in me, bless his holy name on this Sabbath morning!

blessings~
