Almost not quite sure what to respond, I say, “Um, with his fingers?”.

“With his fingers?”

“Yes.”

She picks up a piece of cut orange peel, and says, “I mean this hard peel. He peeled this with his fingers?” in disbelief.

How could I have been so remiss in my educating my daughter in the school of life? What could I do to fix this lack of understanding of reality?

What else?

I got an orange and peeled it with my fingers to prove that this was no great feat. Not something I expected to ever be a Living Learning Moment, but, hey, I guess I was either spoiled or really deprived as a child.

Apparently, having the use of a Pampered Chef Citrus Peeler or using a sharp knife to cut it up has left a huge hole in her understanding of civilization before these handy little gadgets.

Go figure.

Speaking of some handy little gadgets: This is a very handy thing, and not little at all! I am trying to win an ERGObaby Organic Carrier and Heart2Heart Infant Insert @TheShoppingMama. As usual, don’t feel obligated to go enter, as I would love to have a better chance! Just kidding! This one sure is a beauty tho!

It made me think of how there are just some little things I love about each of my children that are special to them.  So, here is my list:

Amanda~ I love the way she cares for her brothers and sisters. She is always there to help and offer her lap or her shoulder.

Jocelyn~I love the way she notices me when I am happy or sad and asks how I am doing.

Rachel~I love the way she searches out new recipes and hones the ones she makes to share with all of us. It is a delight to her, and I love how it brightens her face to prepare meals and even clean up afterward.

Eric~I love the way he is so thoughtful of me as his Momma. He always tells me good-bye and kisses my cheek before he leaves the house, no matter what.

Hannah~I love the way she follows in her sisters footsteps. She is a little bit of each of her older sisters, and that warms my heart.

Isaac~I love the way he gets up in the morning before everyone else to share some time with me and Samuel. I love how he sits and talks and sings to Samuel to keep him smiling. I also love the way he, like Jocelyn, Rachel and Hannah, will pick up paper and pencil and draw just about anything, anytime.

Caleb~I love the way he smiles. I also love the way he calls me “Mother”.

LucyLillie~I love the way she runs to me and melts into my arms every morning when she wakes up

Samuel~I love the way he is. I love it that he is. He is such a ray of sunshine: quiet, smiling, loved by everyone.

Alright, so maybe this post is about how they love their Momma, or their family, but either way, these are just a few of the things I love about my children. They are each wonderful, and I sure do love them! Bless Yahveh for allowing me to mother them. I am truly thankful.

I would love to put an updated photo on here, but I don’t have one. I just told Amanda last night we need to set the timer on the camera and take one. I have also determined that I am no longer going to let the lack of photos or resizing them keep me from posting. So, here it is, with no photo. Maybe I can add one later! I did link each of their names to either their blog or a photo of them.

AND, I do appreciate my husband. I love the way he has always provided for us, even when it meant working two jobs or very long hours. Even when he told me how he did or didn’t like his job, he has never complained about having to have one(or two) to support his family.

“I have dom!”

Today, she got her “dom” from Rachel. And, of course, Caleb wanted some. So, next thing I know, I have a happy, smiling face before me, questioning me on the important stuff:

Caleb, 4: Mom am I behaving?

Me: Why are you asking?

Caleb: Rachel said I can have some gum…

Me: Smiles. Big smile. Yes, you are.

Caleb: “I AM behaving! I AM!

What he didn’t know is that the smile was that I could say yes. Glad he asked now and not an hour ago!

“looking forward to a wonderful Shabbat. Matt is home, and I can’t wait to get to study Scriptures!! Yay! Have a SUPER day! Shabbat Shalom!”

“Watching Waterproof, Six year old just asked, “Why was he (10yo) in that cage?” No, Isaac, no cage; it was a public school ground… :/”

My birthday was Friday, and it was a great day!!
Matt took the day off and Shabbat too. He fixed bathroom stuff on Friday, so my tub (which we haven’t gotten to use yet) is now working, so I will get to use it *happy dance*.
He took some of our children to do some gift shopping and picked out ice cream.
It was wonderful. Love being home.

Scripture Finds this week:
We are (trying to remember to) reading the correlating Proverb each day. We read the Proverb, and I give each child a chance to speak out about what it means to them. Some are really stumpers, while some are pretty- self-explanatory. I hope I can get into the habit soon, because the Proverbs are really important words to live by, and we miss a lot by not applying its wisdom. When we are finished, each child blesses Yehovah for showing them a particular part of the Proverbs we read that touched them.

Here are some of the verses that stuck with us from our Scripture readings:

Proverbs 25:7-10 What your eyes have seen, don’t rush to present in a dispute. For what will you do later on, if your neighbor puts you to shame? Discuss your dispute with your neighbor, but don’t reveal another person’s secrets. If you do, and he hears of it, he will disgrace you, and your bad reputation will stick.

Proverbs 25: 16-17 If you find honey, eat only what you need; for if you eat too much of it, you may throw it up; so don’t visit your neighbor too much, or he may get his fill of you and come to hate you.

Proverbs 25: 27 It isn’t good to eat too much honey or to seek honor after honor.

Removing TORAH in Bibles makes me sad. What we miss!! James. 1:25 says: But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah, which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does. ”

James 1:26 “Anyone who thinks hes religiously observant but doesn’t control his tongue is deceiving himself; his observance counts for nothing.”

I also found this quote, and I stand to refute it:
“It’s all in the relationship with Christ, that our whole life even matters.”
NO. Jesus ALWAYS directed our attention and praise to the FATHER. Though he made the sacrifice and is the Messiah, he never took the glory and never allowed himself to become a god. He did not place our entire value in ourrelationship with him, but in our obedience and relationship to the Father. This is how we truly know Him. He always directs us to Yehovah and Torah.

Proverbs 16:28 “A deceitful person stirs up strife, and a slanderer can separate even close friends.“
